Sound
I bought my akg 141's around '85. I used to come home from parties kinda drunk.."3 sheets to the wind, actually", and i used to blast the heck out of these headphones, and turn up the bass. To these days, they still sound great. Cd's sound great and digital cable music is awesome. All kinds of music, too. They have a bit of a flat response, so there is no "coloration", or certain sounds sound better. All sounds, high and low sound great. Nice sense of music seperation "of instruments". I wouldn't buy any other brand, Like my home Paradigm 9se's. The only problem i had was the leather wore off, exposing the very comfortable foam padding, which i could care less about, as long as they still sound good. I upgraded my reciever to a nice Denon, which are known for their clean "real" power. The akg's can still handle the bass even cranked up so loud they hurt your ears. I was thinking of getting a new pair, just to keep up with akg's new thechnology, but i see no need to. By the way, I paid $100 back then. Now they're even cheaper. Way to go AKG!
