I had been looking at the 20 watt combo version but I saw the 50 watt at a great price and figured for the few extra bucks why not, it's got the power cut right? So I kinda set it at noon straight down the line, and after giving it a thorough visual inspection, mainly making sure the tubes didn't get knocked loose in transit. So I power on, let it warm up as I get my cables sorted, and finally, I strum a chord an instantly jump back because it was so loud it literally scared me. This was with it on the medium power setting and with the master at no more than 4. To even play the high power setting comfortably I had to go all Paul Gilbert and slap on the ear protection. So it's loud, even at the 10 watt setting, but does it sound like a Plexi? I don't know, but it sounds pretty darn good. My feeling is that it's more of a pedal platform as it has quite a bit of clean headroom, especially for a Marshall. While it may not rip like a Super Lead on it's own, giving it a little kick in the face with a boost pedal, Screamer, or even a good Fuzz Face and it's got all the character anyone could need. If you don't care about sounding like someone else and you are willing to look at the Origin series as it's own thing, then there is much to love. However, if you think you are going to get JTM45/Super Lead tones out of it, you may want to save your money and buy the real thing. If there is any real weak point in my view it's that the speaker sounds a bit harsh. While this may subside with breaking read more in, I plan on replacing the speaker with a vintage Jensen that has a much warmer curve and ultimately will be slowly modding it for durability.Frankly it's a fantastic amp for the money, but you have to keep your expectations realistic and you will be very pleased as I am.

Sound
The Origin 50 has a crisp, clear tone that can border on abrasive. I find the Tilt is better left closer to the "Normal" side and the Presence best left almost off. Now in a gig situation this treble will be needed to project through a room, but for practice it's way too much.

Features
This is a fairly simple amp that has just the right combination of features to make it versatile without being loaded down with excessive knobs and switches which just present more potential failure points.

Ease of Use
If this is your first valve amplifier, you may need to fiddle about to find the sweet spot so to speak, but you will find it. Just don't get discouraged if it doesn't radiate beams of light the first time you hit a note.

Quality
As an electrician by trade with years of repair experience I can say it's made reasonably well. It's actually quite servicable, despite what so many ampfluencers would have you believe. The truth is any competent tech can make reasonable repairs if needed. It's actually designed in such a modular way that it's quite nice to work on. Anyone who has ever tried to repair a Mesa Boogie will tell you that much more expensive amps can be that much more in furiating to work on because there is no consideration given to ease of servicability.

Value
Absolutely worth the price. Compared to some of the similar sized EVH and Fender options in the same, if not somewhat higher price range, I would pick this any day of the week as it easily matches the quality of constructiuon at half the price.

Manufacturer Support
I have not had an issue where I had to contact the manufacturer.

The Wow Factor
The amp has the classic Marshall look. That's all it needs, but it fortunately has the tone and performance to back it up. Many a gearfluencer will bemoan the "cheap PCB construction" or the fact that it's not made in their nation of choice, but the fact that there is an actual all tube Marshall that has solid performance at a price point below $800, or $600 in my case, is absolutely amazing.
