Overview
As part of the ongoing collaboration with Gibson™ Custom, Epiphone is proud to introduce the flagship Les Paul™ Custom to the Inspired by Gibson Custom lineup. Replete with all of the classy “tuxedo” appointments that the model is known for, this beautiful guitar has a one-piece mahogany neck with a Modern Medium C profile, an ebony fretboard, and mother-of-pearl block fretboard inlays. There are also mother-of-pearl split diamond and Epiphone logo headstock inlays on the Gibson-style “open book” headstock. Gold hardware, including Grover® Rotomatic® 18:1 gear ratio tuners, gives it even more visual appeal. The solid mahogany body has a maple cap for a touch of added sonic bite, while the Gibson USA 490R and 498T pickups provide tonal sophistication and plenty of muscle to back up all the beauty. They’re hand-wired to CTS® potentiometers, a Switchcraft® output jack and pickup select switch, and Mallory™ capacitors. An Inspired by Gibson Custom double diamond logo is on the back of the headstock, and a black hardshell case with the Inspired by Gibson Custom logo and a goldenrod interior is also included.

Epiphone has really made a statement with this guitar. As with any guitar I purchase I took the time to restring and set it up to my preferences.
Sound
Gibson 498/490 combo seems to have a love/hate relationship with guitarists all over. But, it IS the set that comes installed in the far more expensive Gibson Les Paul Custom, and for good reason. I raise the bridge 498T within an 1/8 inch of the strings and lower the 490R neck pickup flush with the mounting ring.
Features
This is a traditional Les Control, through and through. Controls do not have any fancy tricks just like the original. The upgraded pickups, electronics and the full Gibson style headstock, MOP inlays, ebony fretboard, mahogany/maple body, Grover tuners, hardshell case... What's not to like?
Ease of Use
The neck profile is on the "handful" side. Definitely not huge and definitely not a slim taper D. It seems to be right in the middle and I actually wasn't sure I was going to like it....but I do! No fatigue or hand cramping with this profile.
Quality
I've always, always, always wanted a true Gibson version of this guitar. This Epiphone checks ALL the boxes without breaking the bank. It is gorgeous and built solid. No imperfections. Although the first one I purchased came with an issue and I exchanged it. zZounds took care of it! Great company!
Value
Yes, I think… read more it is reasonable.
