The AKG CM311 reference head-worn condenser microphone is designed for touring and live-sound applications. It sounds like the best handheld microphones -- full, clear and distortion-free, even with the loudest singers. Differoid stands for differential cardioid, which cancels ambient noise from floor monitors, crowds and other sources. Controlled field tests show that the Differoid provides up to 12dB more gain before feedback than conventional cardioid microphones. Many users of CM311 report that their house mix is clearer because the mic’s isolation is nearly complete.

"CHEAP PLASTIC MIC HOLDER BREAKS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY"

Do not purchase this very expensive headset because the flimsy plastic used to actually hold the heavy mic breaks within the first few uses and the replacement part cannot be installed without removing the mic from the soldered wiring and mini condenser/resister on the mic itself. The mic holding rod is metal but the actual holder is cheap plastic. If you are paying this much money or a product, you should be guarateed that the proper material will be ised throughout the product.
