Sound: Very expressive and subtle accent to any drumkit. I've used most tambourines on the market and nothing compares to this Toca brand tambourine. Why you ask? Because most tambourines have a plastic edge, and when the stick hits the plastic you hear added noise from the tambourine and not the jingle it is supposed to make. With this Toca Jingle-Hit Tambourine, the rubber edge provides cusion when your stick hits it so that way you don't hear the noise of the stick hitting the plastic edge, you only hear the jingle. I think the 6" offers more adversity than the larger sizes. Feature: I think it's a perfect size for any setting. It's not too loud, and it's not too faint, it's perfect, fits right in there. And the gibraltar mount makes it convenient to mount it on just about any piece of hardware. Ease of Use: If you can groove, you'll find a place for this in your sound. Quality: Can't really judge this yet, I just got it.. but I can say it was packaged very well and it looks, sounds, and feels very durable. I think the only complaint I have is that zzsounds has the item pictured in black, and when it arrived it was more of a pearl white finish. So if that can be thrown out there before a purchase is made, that would be cool...however it just so worked out that it contrasts the kit perfectly.. so a mistake resolved! Value: I think it's the most affordable tambourine on the market right now..best sounding, everything. Very happy with it thus far! Manufacturer Support: First time Toca buyer...can't rate the brand. The Wow Factor: Play with your ears, not your eyes. Who cares about sex appeal... if you want that take a visit to hollywierd. What matters is this is a very functional tambourine that will be compatible with most drumkits. Overall: Love it!

Sound: the jingle hit is a good idea, but perhaps not well thought out. as a piece that is meant to be mounted on a kit or percussion set and hit with a stick, it doesn't have the volume or attack on the jingles to cut through everything. I mounted it along with percussion on an auxiliary rack on my kit, and only in low dynamic sections is it even audible. I tried various techniques to increase the volume of the jingles, but even after all that it is a very quite piece. Toca also offers an 8" version, which could potentially be louder, but the design and construction of the jingles is the same so i personally don't believe that the difference would be substantial enough to become a permenant part of my kit. i would suggest this piece for low-impact players who would not have trouble with their overall sound drowning the jingle hit. Feature: the material of the jingles is not awful, but certain not the best. I believe that the choice to construct it with low-density metal on the jingles has a lot of impact on its inabaility to be heard. The shell is also on the cheap side, but in this instance I don't believe it highly impacts the sound. The absorbant rubber along the striking edge o the shell seems to be of good quality and so far has not shown any signs of cracking tearing or drying. The jingle hit comes with a mount that has an extra mount available for another piece, which was nice. Ease of Use: open the box and set it up on your kit. doesn't get much easier than that. Quality: as always, you get what you pay for. for the price its fine, the contruction is good enough, i don't imagine its going to break on me but its definitely made with inexpensive materials, and the over all sound demonstrates this. (see sound section) Value: i was expecting a little better quality, or at least a denser jingle metal but for the price point I think that was mostly wishful thinking. Manufacturer Support: i have not, don't imagine i will have to, deal with Toca's support department for this product. The Wow Factor: conceptually i was very excited to add this to my kit, being able to implement a tambourine without the stick attack could have greatly opened up choruses, and add really nice nuances to my parts. if only anyone could hear it... Overall: i have already begun searching for another tambourine, i have not been able to find anything that has the features of this one but really its all about the sound, so when i find a mountable tambourine that meets my expectations sonically I am likely to modify it with a similiar striking surface as the jingle hit.

Style of Music: all- main focus for this piece was funk, ethnic, and fusion
