Beyond Demos: Mastering and Burning CDs

No production is ready for duplication or dissemination without first going through the mastering process. The DP-24 provides a suite of mastering tools, including a multiband stereo compressor/limiter and mastering EQ that will help bring your final mix into sharp focus and noise-shaping dithering to bring your project from 24-bit to 16-bit. Once you have your stereo master track, finish the production process by burning a CD master using the DP-24's built-in optical drive. Not ready to commit to CD quite yet? Simply offload your tracks via USB 2.0 for further tweaking on a computer-based DAW.

Tascam's DP-24 is a 24-track Digital Portastudio with solid-state recording, a color LCD and channel strip controls to make recording simple so you can stay creative. Up to eight simultaneous tracks can be recorded through its combination XLR and 1/4-inch combo jacks. Input processing like compression and limiting are available during recording, as well as guitar amp simulation and multi-effects for use with the instrument-level input.

Once recorded, tracks can be viewed and mixed on the large color LCD and dedicated mixing controls like 19 linear faders and a dozen channel strip encoders. Two Mixdown effects including reverb and chorus are also available, as well as a mastering processors. Once finished, songs can be transferred to computer over USB or written to CD with the built-in CD-RW drive.
