Squier Hello Kitty Stratocaster Electric Guitar Reviews

21 People rated this product :
           9 out of 10

"This is an uncomplicated guitar for practice. A good deal for Hello Kitty fans, not the best deal for the serious guitarist."
Feature:
Hello Kitty pick guard and volume control.

Quality:
All seems well, there's the inconsistency in sound quality from guitar to guitar (as mentioned above) but overall there's not much that can go wrong on this guitar, very solid.

Value:
Unless you're a Hello Kitty fan (or buying this for a Hello Kitty fan) it's better to get a nice grown up Strat for the same price, or a cheaper Squier with the same features. Its shameful, I know, but I do like Hello Kitty and I was *thrilled* when my husband gave it to me for Christmas. My daughter is now way more interested in learning how to play because after practicing on her own she can 'freestyle' on mommy's Hello Kitty guitar. She's four years old, so this is a good thing. When she's a little older we're looking to get her either the pink version (I have the black) or the mini.

Desirability:
Mixing Hello Kitty and the idea of "sex appeal" just should not happen-- Hello Kitty is cute, not sexy. It does have an "I want" factor to it for Hello Kitty fans.

Sound:
This is a typical Squier, in that you can meet the very same model of guitar and it will sound different than your own right out of the box. This is a basic practice guitar, nothing more. Mine sounds great (I guess this time I'm the lucky one) but try before you buy (not just this Squier-- any of them)

Ease of Use:
Very simple and straight forward, tune and play. There's really nothing difficult about this-- it's not finicky, doesn't have any weird buzzing and sounds FANTASTIC on clear. PS Skip on this if you want overdrive, and go straight to distortion. Clear or distortion. Period.

Overall:
There's very little that can go wrong with this guitar. The main feature is the Hello Kitty pick guard and the pink or black color schemes. There is no tone control, only the volume control and it's a durable enough model. Only worth the money if you are a fan of Hello Kitty or want to inspire a little girl to practice scales or chords. Very nice look (again only for Hello Kitty fans) but do check out the sound. Stays in tune quite well, but should not be the only axe in your arsenal.

"Cool Paint, Crap Sound, Lots of Potential"
Feature:
You get a wonderful looking hello kitty guitar strap along with the amazing looking paint job.

Quality:
It's a Squier...made by Fender....that is all.

Value:
I would pay that much just to have a Tin Can with Hello Kitty on it, which is basically what this is.

Desirability:
This is where this guitar excels. What girl wouldn't want a guy rockin a Hello Kitty guitar at there show?? Esepcially if you got that EMG81 in there...oohh man. =p

Sound:
Sounds like you would expect a crappy guitar manufactured by fender to sound.

Ease of Use:
Going to be a pain to get anything close to good sound out of this. If I personally owned one for some reason, which I might buy it just for the novelty, I would throw a EMG81 in there, get a fender classic C-neck, get a wrap around bridge and call it a day.

Support:
This company overall has taken the backseat to other modern companies in customer service in my opinion.

Overall:
Overall it's just a guitar you would have to make people laugh. Not only does it look funny it sounds funny as well. Kind of like a dying cow if I had to compare it to anything.
