This is NOT a bad guitar. Some macho types put it down, but the neck is actually pretty good & the humbucker ain't so bad either. Think of it as a pink Tom Delonge model Plug it into a real amp and it screams WAY better than the usual Squier. I wouldn't pay more than $200 used for it, but I'll bet this will be a collectible. Oh yeh, macho guys: Chicks DIG this guitar! don't forget to get the matching strap (and VERY hard to find) gig bag, LOL!

"This is an uncomplicated guitar for practice. A good deal for Hello Kitty fans, not the best deal for the serious guitarist."

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
There's very little that can go wrong with this guitar. The main feature is the Hello Kitty pick guard and the pink or black color schemes. There is no tone control, only the volume control and it's a durable enough model. Only worth the money if you are a fan of Hello Kitty or want to inspire a little girl to practice scales or chords. Very nice look (again only for Hello Kitty fans) but do check out the sound. Stays in tune quite well, but should not be the only axe in your arsenal.
Sound
This is a typical Squier, in that you can meet the very same model of guitar and it will sound different than your own right out of the box. This is a basic practice guitar, nothing more. Mine sounds great (I guess this time I'm the lucky one) but try before you buy (not just this Squier-- any of them)
Features
Hello Kitty pick guard and volume control.
Ease of Use
Very simple and straight forward, tune and play. There's really nothing difficult about this-- it's not finicky, doesn't have any weird buzzing and sounds FANTASTIC on clear. PS Skip on this if you want overdrive, and go straight to distortion. Clear or distortion. Period.
Quality
All seems well, there's the inconsistency in sound quality from guitar to guitar (as mentioned above) but overall there's not much that can go wrong on this guitar, very solid.
Value
Unless you're a Hello Kitty fan (or buying this for a Hello Kitty fan) it's better to get a nice grown up Strat for the same price, or a cheaper Squier with the same features. Its shameful, I know, but I do like Hello Kitty and I was *thrilled* when my husband gave it to me for Christmas. My daughter is now way more interested in learning how to play because after practicing on her own she can 'freestyle' on mommy's Hello Kitty guitar. She's four years old, so this is a good thing. When she's a little older we're looking to get her either the pink version (I have the black) or the mini.
The Wow Factor
Mixing Hello Kitty and the idea of "sex appeal" just should not happen-- Hello Kitty is cute, not sexy. It does have an "I want" factor to it for Hello Kitty fans.

"Cool Paint, Crap Sound, Lots of Potential"

Overall it's just a guitar you would have to make people laugh. Not only does it look funny it sounds funny as well. Kind of like a dying cow if I had to compare it to anything.
Sound
Sounds like you would expect a crappy guitar manufactured by fender to sound.
Features
You get a wonderful looking hello kitty guitar strap along with the amazing looking paint job.
Ease of Use
Going to be a pain to get anything close to good sound out of this. If I personally owned one for some reason, which I might buy it just for the novelty, I would throw a EMG81 in there, get a fender classic C-neck, get a wrap around bridge and call it a day.
Quality
It's a Squier...made by Fender....that is all.
Value
I would pay that much just to have a Tin Can with Hello Kitty on it, which is basically what this is.
Manufacturer Support
This company overall has taken the backseat to other modern companies in customer service in my opinion.
The Wow Factor
This is where this guitar excels. What girl wouldn't want a guy rockin a Hello Kitty guitar at there show?? Esepcially if you got that EMG81 in there...oohh man. =p

"Too girly for real men"

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
It sounds bad. It has one Squier bucker. nuff sed
Features
It's too basic to cost 200 dollas
Ease of Use
There is absolutely NO WAY to get good sounds from this product.
Quality
its a squier guitar, so bad quality is a good way to describe it
Value
It should be a hundred dolla guitar. Really. This is bad.
The Wow Factor
It's pink. That's the least manly of all colors. Since I'm a man, pink is just embarassing. I would never buy this.
