Despite its compact size, this acoustic-electric has a big voice. Its Fishman Isys+ preamp is powerful and transparent, delivering rich and full-bodied tone.

Seagull's Excursion Natural Grand SG compact, parlor size guitar is great fun to play and produces a surprisingly big sound for such a small package. As with all models in this series, the Excursion Natural Grand SG features Canadian Wild Cherry top, back & sides made of a 3-layer lamination of real hardwood. Other features include a burn stamped rosette, semi-gloss Custom Polished finish, and Seagull Slim neck. This guitar adds Fishman Isys+ electronics with a built-in tuner.

I have a nice Martin, which I try very hard to protect with a humidor, and from the heat and cold. I wanted a guitar to take to the beach, mountains, camping, etc. I played the more well-known mini/baby series but wasn’t happy with the feel, balance, or sound. My local shop carries seagulls and had the entire Excursion line. WOW. For the price these guitars are amazing! I love that you can feel the wood grain on the body. I personally hate when guitars have so much lacquer that they feel sterile and plastic! Let the wood breath. I realize that this is a plywood guitar, and that it is very small, but then that is why I bought it. Loving it for spontaneous worship sessions. It has an unusual tone, unique, not super tinny, but just different. The balance is wonderful, the fit and finish is flawless, and I paid the extra 50 for the onboard electronics…and that is where my mind was blown. I played it through my Roland Street EX and was shocked on the adjustability balance of tone. Seagull has seriously impressed me! Is this a D-28? Nope. Is a civic a Ferrari? Nope. This is an awesome first guitar/travel guitar/parlor guitar.
