The Jeff Ocheltree carbon steel snare drums feature black chrome die cast hoops, easy throw off, shock mounted tube lugs in a black chrome finish. The carbon steel shell is extremely heavy and has thick black chrome plating. The carbon steel shell also features carefully machined bearing edges and die cast hoops that set this drum apart from any on the market today. This snare is a keeper! I have the 6 1/2" deep version and may purchase the 5 1/2" as well. I went to order a Ludwig Black Magic snare, but when I saw and heard this snare I purchased it instead. This is great for outside gigs and sounds great over the PA.
Sound
Playing this snare is addictive! Lay into it and it Screams! Sounds like a cannon on steroids! At low volumes it is extremely sensitive, great for buzz rolls and ghost notes. I unveiled this snare at rehearsal last night and my band mates were blown away! No easy task as I have a sizeable arsenal of snares. This is currently my favorite snare. Great sound, visual appeal, versatility and all at a killer price! Try it, you'll Love it!

Striking finish, perfect bearing edges, simple and efficient throwoff and die-cast hoops to top it off.

The Wow Factor
The finish is classy and the black hardware combined with the knurled center band make this drum elegant and visually appealing. It is right at home with any high-end drum kit. This drum brings positive comments from both drummers and other musicians.
