Numark's new DXM01, DXM03 and DXM06 'DXM Series' is a completely new line of compact scratch mixers for professional DJs. Featuring 24-bit digital processing, DXM mixers deliver superior sound as well as many unique performance benefits. Each model provides unique performance-enhancing features. The DXM06 features 12 on-board digital effects (Flanger, Echo, Tape Echo, 2x Copy, Phaser, and Filter for CH1/Ch2, plus Vocoder, Echo, Tape Echo, Reverb, Limiter+Distortion, and Telephone for Mic/Aux), all routable to Ch1, Ch2, Mic/Aux or Master. The effects control interface uses a Beat Sync Tap Button, wet/dry fader, and rotary parameter control, plus kill buttons for instant, intuitive control. The DXM06 is the lowest priced 24-bit digital mixer available with effects. All three DXM Series mixers feature Numark's new 'D-Type' digital crossfader for incredible feel and response, a reverse switch and continuous rotary slope control, 2 Phono (w/phono defeat switch)/2 line inputs, 1 mic/stereo aux input, steep 3-band EQ with frequency kill, Look-Ahead Peak Limiting on headphone and master outputs, and RCA Record output and 1/4 in. Balanced Master Output. Numark is constantly applying real-world experience to their new product specifications and the DXM Series is the perfect example of this practice. Sound: It's digital, I don't get any noise from the thing. However, when you switch it on, it makes a very loud popping sound in the headphones; that may be damaging. The kill switches are awsome, and the FX unit is well-bred. Feature: This is my first scratch mixer, and I wanted something that had consolodated technology. After a couple weeks of research, I arrived at this mixer. I still has everything I enjoy using or would like to have. I believe it was designed with famed Alesis technology. Quality: My first crossfader bled on the left side. That means even when it was supposed to cut of the right channel is still let out some of its sound. When scratching, it's very annoying. I was sent a new one in March, and I no longer have that problem. Also the crossfader tab pulls off easy when scratching. I like for the tab (or whatever you call it), to be attached to the fader and not to my fingers! Other than that, I love it. Value: I recomend this as your first mixer. I havn't outgrown mine yet, but when I do, it'll be Vestax, Rane, or the Numark PPD01. Manufacturer Support: I sent an e-mail about my faulty crossfader, I got a near instant correspondence from a representative, and was sent my replacement part about a week later. And that's NY to TX people. Not bad! The Wow Factor: Yeah, nobody has a mixer with the same Quality + Features / Price ratio. It's fairly solid, and aesthetically very cool. Overall: Balanced 1/4" outputs, digital crossfader and kills, and accurate FX unit make it respectable. This isn't another saturday night special.

Sound: Very hard digital sound. Extremely clear and accurate. Feature: Good kills, good but limited effects. Ease of Use: Uncomplicated. Quality: Left Channel went out after 2 months of use. Value: Very reasonable for quality of features. Manufacturer Support: Tough to get ahold of anyone to send it in for repair. The Wow Factor: Very basic, but for a first mixer definitely sexy. Overall: Already purchased a new mixer because left channel is gone.
