Ibanez Tube Screamer TS9 Overdrive Pedal

There is no single stomp box more famous than the Ibanez Tube Screamer. Thanks to tubelike distortion, smooth sustain, fat tone, and acclaim by artists too numerous to mention, the Tube Screamer has been and continues to be the world's most popular solid-state overdrive. So much so that after production of the TS9 ended in 1984, used TS9s were going for as much as 4 times their original price at vintage shows a few years later.

I'm not a pedal guy. I have a Carl Martin Quattro that use effectively in my stage rig. But I also have a small/lightweight high-quality/high-power SS amp that I use for rehearsals. I hate riding the volume control on the guitar, so I wanted a lead boost with a touch of dirt for soloing. It took me less than a minute to dial in just what I wanted - a simulation of a tube amp just barely breaking up. I'll see what else it can do when I get around to it, but that's really all I need.
