Avant Electronics, an industry innovator of high quality, affordable audio products presents the new series of Avantone Drum Microphones. The Avantone CDMK-6 drum mic package is designed from the ground up by Avant Electronics U.S.A engineers to deliver world class performance both live as well as in the studio. All final packaging and testing of the mics is performed in Sunny Southern California. The basic philosophy on the mic designs was to go for a very big sonic footprint with maximum personality of tone while packaging into rugged bodies with a proprietary hardware mounting/isolation combination.

Each mic is constructed with Zinc cast bodies and steel mesh grills. Employing neodymium magnets for a hot output and capsules designed to handle high SPL percussive transients each mic exhibits a very tight pickup pattern to allow better sonic control over individual drums.

Mondo Kick Drum Mic x 1

The Mondo kick mic with SSM Shock Mount is the heart of the lineup and offers a very aggressive frequency contour that sounds huge right out of the box so most engineers will find little need for EQ.

Atom Tom Mic x 2

CK-1 Cymbal/Overhead Mic x 2

The CK-1 true-condenser mic has recently gone through audio path component upgrades and offers tremendous quality for drum kit overheads that can easily be compared to mics costing 4 times as much. It features a 20mm cardioid capsule (and a hyper-cardioid version for hi-hat). The CK-1 also has a -10dB pad and 75Hz rolloff filter switch to reduce unwanted low frequency bleed into the cymbal mics.

The mics come packaged in a custom designed Vintage style Tweed case that cradles the mics safely in a padded, foam liftout tray that when removed reveals a sizeable storage space below for cables and extra accessories. A unique feature of these mics is that each and every one uses Avantone's rugged SSM metal shock mount and the tom and snare mics also attach using their Pro-Klamp drum rim mount. The combination of these 2 mounting pieces yields the highest degree of isolation over any other drum mic kits in the world!
