Gibson Les Paul Custom Customer Review

I bought the guitar. I love it. I was in between a PRS and a Les Paul. I play out of a Mesa Boogie Tremo-Verb Duel Rectifier. I tried out the PRS (the custom 22 and a single cutaway). I think those guitars sounded good and chunky, but just didn't have the distinction of notes like the LP Custom. The Standard LP's sounded great, but lacked the distinction the LP Custom had. I play big chords alot and like the fact that I could distinguish all of the notes when I played on the LP Custom. When I played single notes (solo) the notes cut through like a knife. I initialy wanted to buy a PRS, but I left with a Black Beauty. I play heavier music (like Deftones and Tool), but I think the guitar will sound really great in what ever genre of music you play. It is a pricey guitar but I think it is worth it in the all holy search for "The Tone". I am now very poor....but very happy. I don't mind eating Ramin for a couple of months. I hope that my review will help out. Peace.

"This guitar is always the crowd favorite,everywhere we play."

This is the best guitar I've ever owned,and I've had way too many guitars.I use a blonde strat,a tigger striped Ibanez and this guitar on stage.The Gibson always gets noticed.
...AND THE SOUND?..If you want to build a wall of sound and then knock it down.This is the guitar you need.I costs a lot but it'll be cheaper than buying 14 guitars before you finally realize that this is what you wanted all along.

The Les Paul Custom, introduced in 1954, has been affectionately nicknamed the Black Beauty and the Fretless Wonder. By any name, it has always represented the highest level of elegance and beauty in the Les Paul family.

490R Humbucker
This "Modern Classic" pickup features tonal characteristics similar to the '57 Classic, but deliver a slight increase in the upper mids, for a more contemporary humbucking sound. The special Alnico II magnet gives these beauties a singing quality that delivers on demand.

498T Humbucker
Put a slightly hotter Alnico V magnet into a specially wound coil combination, and you get the 498T "Hot Alnico." With its higher output and emphasis on mid-ranges and highs, the 498T is the perfect rock pickup.

Set 1-piece mahogany neck with rounded profile. Ebony fretboard with pearl block inlays and single-ply binding. AlNiCo 490 and 498 humbuckers. Gold hardware. Includes case and certificate of authenticity.
