Feature:
The As-1000 has a mini jack recording output on the belt pack for musicians who like to record their performance or rehearsals for reference, can plug into a mini digital recorder or you can use with a mini dv video camera with a line from the mixing board.
Quality:
This is not a $1500 unit and most musicians are not performing with million dollar productions so this unit is very practical and ideal for the musicians who don't have a couple of grand to buy the kind you see on MTV. The sound quality depends on the ear buds and also the source coming in to the system.
Value:
Other then the money I will spend for better ear buds, this is a very good investment for the working musician.
Desirability:
The unit looks and feels light and does not have all the digital LED's and fancy colored backlit screens that the $2,000 models have but it gets the job done just fine.
Sound:
The only problem with the AS-1000 is the ear buds…. The ear buds have a mid low to low range with no mid or highs so they have an almost muffled sound as the quality is average. I tried a Sony MDR-7506 studio headphones and the difference was night and day. I also discovered the AS-1000 has built in limiter to help keep everything coming in your ear even with out a stray note jumping and that’s cool.
Ease of Use:
The range is very good and a strong signal as well. This would be ideal for vocalist who sing with pre-recorded tracks, in clubs where space is tight or just to bring the over all volume down. Once you have your mix set then you will find this unit will make a difference as in no sore throat from yelling over instruments and no ringing ears if set at the correct level.
Support:
Galaxy Audio has wonderful support, fast, friendly and helpful.
Overall:
I plan to use this for quite some time.... the only upgrade needed is the ear buds and that I plan to only buy once as well.

Quality:
Belt clip on the bodypack is junk...you have to duct tape it to keep it from springing off, then it works fine.
Value:
Great value for the money, but NOT a high-end wireless, of course.
Sound:
It sounds OK...not as good as the Shure 400 series rigs we use as primaries, but we got this as a backup unit, anyway.
Support:
Helpful; I called once.
Overall:
The ear buds provided with the product are JUNK. Unusable. Distortion abounds. If you use decent earbuds with this unit (Shure E3 or better, I use E5s), then the transmitter/receiver is serviceable. We use it as a backup unit...I cannot stress enough that you have to budget for a pair of Shure E3s or a pair of Ultimate Ears at minimum; the earbuds provided with the product really are unusable.
