"Have the fire extinguishers close by. This one is hot."
Not long. Already looking at its big brother VL2 and the other TC voice enhancing products out there.
Yes, if lost or stolen, I would replace it with a product form the same manufacturer. Its that good.
Like most? Makes me feel like there is hope for all of us non-singer wannabees. Everly brothers, look out.
Sound
I didn't know they had these products existed until a few months ago. I came across them after writing some music and trying to demonstrate how the words fit the music. After mixing my voice with a couple of back up voices (also my own), I said to myself, there's got to be a better way. Well, lo and be hold, there is. A quick search on the web found several items on-line. I listened to the demos, talked to several knowledgeable folks, tried severalk of them out and selected the Harmony G as my weapon of choice. I have never been known as a singer and, with almost all of the groups I've worked with, have been told to stay away from the mikes....even my significant other has been less than complementary of my vocal talents. Yet, right out of the box, this product open musical doors I didn't know existed and has changed my whole perspective..and my sound to the point where no one has recognized my singing on the demos I've made. Great 1 or 2 part harmonies are possible from this unit, from the squeeky high pitched girly tones to bass voices that go below what's humanly possible. The middle ranges will fit most people (1/3 octave above and below will give you a majority of the classic pop harmonies). Great effects including doubling, echo and decent reverb round out the sounds. It tracks the guitar extremey well with little, if any, noticeable delay even during quick chord changes. The manual and reviews don't much about singing accapella (sp?) but I have been able to get decent harmonies out of it sans the guitar. Its built for the road and has lots of LEDs to show what you're doing. For the money, it won't won't bust your bank (in fact, its less than the other comparable products) For a person like me, the G (and the new G XT)is a dream come true and I have been having a ball with it over the past few weeks. The problem I am already having is that I am already looking at its big brother the VoiceLive 2 and the other TC products designed to make singers sound better. I know I need a lot of help in the voice dept and I know it probably won't make me the next American Idol but this is a great product to take for a spin. Hey Santa! You got this one right. Now, you still want a recommendation? You got it!
Features
Easy to use right out of the box. Solid construction is impressive. Other manufacturers should take note. Intuitive controls.
Ease of Use
ALready mentioned above. Kind of wish the manual had more data in it such as suggested settings for a particular sound. But, it really takes little time to get up and running which, for people like is great.
Quality
Excellent. No complaints. I am wondering how they got so much sound in such a small box.
Value
Yes. IN fact it was offered for less than the comparable products on the market (the Electro-Harmonix Voice box does a bit more but doesn't feel as sturdy. Digitec comes close but required more programming and had too many things going on for me
Manufacturer Support
Good web site with assorted demos. Too new to judge the service aspects
The Wow Factor
Lots of lights, simple buttons good display, solid feel. And most of all, it does what it says it does; actually more than it claims.

"Great unit for 'instant' polish, get one!"

The beauty of this product is the effective, high quality, simplicity of it. Put it between you and your amp/PA and you will have enhanced full sound instantly (with the 'Tone' and 'Double' switched on) and some nice harmonies for occasional effect and impression throughout your set. It's improved my sound three fold.
Sound
This is a high quality unit as you would expect from TC Helicon. Easy, cheap and quick way to add studio polish and depth to your live sound.
Features
It is designed to be effective with the minimum of messing around and it meets it's original design goal well. Unlike some other units that need a lot of programming, this is 'plug and play' I sometimes wish it had a stereo phones out on the back but there is no room there, it's got all that it really needs.
Ease of Use
Simple to use and operate after 5 minutes with the manual (also, check out their web site video's).
Quality
Excellent build, nice 'weight', seems tough enough for everyday/night use. Hope the pots don't get 'scratchy'.
Value
A little overpriced but got a good deal at Zzounds. I see that they get the occasional customer return from time to time which would make it even better value.
Manufacturer Support
Shot them an e mail with a pre sales question and I got a reply the next day. They are on the west coast (Canada) and so convenient for me to call if I need to.
The Wow Factor
I don't 'want' it because I have it.

"TOTAL FUN, FUNCTIONAL, OUTSTANDING."

I play solo blues, ballads, classic rock. Also with a small combo.
This thing is an eye opener. I am a mediocre vocalist. You can pull off Helplessly Hoping by CSN piece of cake with this baby. It is a trip. The Pitch Correct is a must also if you can afford it.
Sound
Grrrrreat! CSN in a box. If you like country back up vocals, swing, what ever. This thing will change your life. Its that cool. I researched everything in this price range. I got the Tone Correct pedal to go with it.
Features
Very well thought out.
Ease of Use
Again very well thought out. I had to use the manual very briefly just to see what things did. It works way better with the guitar plugged into it. Hit you root chord and it does the rest.
Quality
Well built. Metal box.
The Wow Factor
Sex appeal?? God yes.

"Blown Away - get one."

My acoustic guitar has an under the saddle pickup up and I'm not real happy with the sound it produces. I'm considering upgrading to a pickup that mixes saddle and microphone analog signals, or investing a a preamp that has full EQ capability.
Sound
Blown away with what comes out of this piece of gear. The biggest challenge (as someone else has posted) is getting over yourself when you hear the harmony that this little device produces. If your are a one person show as I am - then you'll fall in love with this thing right out of the box. I used it yesterday at a Christmas party and I had people give be some really positive feedback - you know that you are doing good when the ask you not to quit.
The big surprise is that this little device produces really good harmony - acapella in the non-manual mode. Everything I had read about this equipment indicated that the guitar had to lead the harmony. I sing traditional country, folk and bluegrass so the harmonies are not too complex, but still I was not expecting this kind of performance.
The only negative, and this may be due to me still being in a learning curve, is the voice "doubling" effect is not as pronounced as I was expecting. This may be to soon to make this comment since I'm still learning how to use it but I've not been able to get acceptable voice quality when selecting the lower harmonies and/or bass.
Features
The ability to generate one and two part harmonies and the FX selection and controls are awesome. If this device had a true "EQ" function just for an acoustic guitar then it would be nearly perfect. This device does not have an on/off switch which is strange.
Ease of Use
This device worked right out of the box. I think I'm still learning to take advantage of all of its features so I would say that there is a learning curve involved.
Quality
The unit looks great and is well made - it should stand up to road use.
Manufacturer Support
No assistance required so far....
The Wow Factor
This is a "must have" for people that are one-person shows.
