After trying to use a new Hosa imp. matching transformer that gave me ground problems, I plugged in on of my old Shure transformers and presto....no more issues. So I wanted to get a few more. Not saying Hosa doesn't make a decent product, but I wanted to go with what has worked for me over the years. Pricey? yes, but the quality is there.
Musical Background:
I've been playing for about 50 years. Guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, etc. Used to be a full time musician, now just at church.
Musical Style:
Christian, but I grew up on all styles... :o)

"Don't break your amp!"

For this application I can't imagine a better product or ever replacing this product.
Sound
I use this to connect the low impedance output of an acoustic guitar preamp to the high impedance input of an acoustic guitar amplifier. I have used other transformers, and have had problems, and varying sound quality. Typical transformers of this type have the barrel attached directly to a 1/4 inch plug, which can put a lot of stress on an amplifier input. On a gig that's just waiting to ruin your day. The Shure allows me to run standard guitar cord to the amp input. It's also the best sounding transformer I've used, by far. Trust me, they don't all sound the same. They should, but they DON"T.
Features
This also comes with a male 1/4 inch plug, but I don't use that part.
Ease of Use
Plug and play, and never worry.
Quality
As solid as one would expect from Shure - a tank.
Value
Works every time - worth every penny.
Manufacturer Support
I will assume if it ever fails I'll be taken care of.
The Wow Factor
This is a silly question. Transformers are not sexy, but they can be necessary.
