I purchased this on kind of a spur of the moment thing...had the cash, was thinking of either the Randall SS 2x12 combo ...or waiting and waiting to save up for an ENGL metal master combo. I had heard that 6v6's were the same as 6l6's and they arent. Power tubes have a huge influence in how an amp sounds and Im an EL34 guy. Big crunchy mids and great bright cleans. 6l6s have so much headroom that they are boomy and dont represent high gain well imo. Evidently 6v6's are a little more crunchy and less boomy. The cleans are still like 6l6's but a little more midrange sound but not great. BUT the gain channel smokes! I think the breakup of the 6v6's blend well with the high gain better than 6l6's would. Now its not as sweet or bright as an el84 or el34 amp - but its not boomy and buzzy like an old 5150. It breaks up very fat. Comes off a little dark but harmonics come through. I am playing through an old carvin 4x12 with celestion v30's. And for 20 watts ? Its LOUD ! You could easily club gig with this. 20 watts RMS is very loud, doubt you would ever peg it. With all that said i dont know if ill keep it because i do want an EL based amp ...but for now it does the job better than i thought ! Wont go through all the features as they are already listed ...if you are a tube freak metal head on a budget , this isnt bad. And as far as manufacture support, i cant rate it if i didnt use it.

Had this for a few months now, for the money you can not beat it. Used it at a gig over the weekend and I was so proud to hear my baby roaring at full volume. Mind you, 20 watts had to be mic’ed up to be heard, but so did the other guitarists 6505. The tone is awesome, I worried that it wouldn’t be enough gain from reading reviews and watching YouTube videos... those people who said there isn’t enough gain are crazy. Senseless amounts of gain on tap. I did switch out v1 for a Tung-sol and am running it through the matches cab which I put a v30 and a T75 in.
Great sounding amp, I’d recommend it or the 45 watt version if you need a little more balls.
