"the beast"
i think im gonig to keep this amp, almost for certain, BUT add some rack stuff and possibly another amp to get an even heavier tone (thinking maybe a Peavey XXX or 5150 modded) but after that ill definitely be set and in heavy heaven.
Sound
ok obviously since its randall, you dont want to play teeny pop or blues with it but if youre into heavy HEAVY metal, this is definitely a decent amp. its solid state so its not gonig to sound all warm and fuzzy. my only real complaints are that the gain on the dirty channel doesnt change much after about 6 or 7. the reverb sounds good, its got a 9 band graphic eq on the dirty channel, presence on the clean, separate volumes, efx loop, 300 watts so thats plenty for just about anyone. but for metal its a tough customer.
Features
ive already listed most of the features but i think the only thing id really change on here would be that id like to see this amp in stereo instead of mono. not a really big deal BUT thats the only complaint i realyl have.
Quality
this thing is built like a space shuttle and just about as heavy. its only weakness would probably be kyptonite.
Value
for the price and features, tone and everything else, ya cant beat it for under a grand
Manufacturer Support
i cant really give an honest answer here because ive never had to deal with em.
The Wow Factor
its pretty standard. i mean its black tolex, sorta looks like high grade leather up close. black grill on the front with a satin or brushed randall logo.
