I'd like to amend my review on the SE24 now that I've had it for over a month. I've learned a lot!The capabilities of this mixer are incredibly wide & deep. It's awesome. So this is what I've done: 1) I figured out how to use this new age mixer with my old Mac Tower running my favorite, lightweight OSX operating system, when multiple advisors told me it couldn't be done or that it hasn't been tested with El Capitan so they couldn't guarantee its success.Wrong! It works awesomely & flawlessly and I'm in Home Studio Heaven!! I found this out after spending a solid week failing, failing & failing again and then after hours for days & days, finally succeeding in creating a whole new OpenCore Legacy Mac OS X Monterey Operating System and then, not liking Reason 14 at all. Massive waste of time. It works with El Capitan just fine. There's just a few tricks I had to figure out...It runs as a massive, versatile audio interface into Logic & Reason with no problems.Ok on to the next...2) I've given each piece of my studio gear, inputs and scribble pad indicators.3) I've gotten AVB audio figured out. It was prone to dropouts but one little adjustment made all the difference. I had bought the best cat6e cable. Updated the firmware's on my SE24 & my 24r, and still, the signal would glitch and drop out. Turn out, they tell you to set one clock as internal and the other as a client or whatever, but it turns out setting both clocks to PSP..Bing!! Everything locked into place and I could send live drum set audio from my drum room over 1 Ethernet Cat6 cable into my studio and it shows up blazing fast...I mean the drummer is on in ears and he's screaming " OMG!!! How is there no latency?! I'm hitting the drums and hearing accurate attack and it's going through over 100 feet of cable and back to me!! It's crazy!!" We both were amazed...Sidenote: electrical audio signal travels over copper wire at 70% of the speed of light! What??! 4) I've got my vocal sound dialed to perfection. 5) My bass sound is, (as a friend said after I sent him a bass track...and I quote).."It was an amazing sound! I've got other players on my project, there's no comparison!" 6) I've got headphone mixes for my sax player & drummer in my studio, dialed with hall verbs, room verbs and light compression...makes tracking a joy. 7) I've got presets setup for bass sessions, drum sessions, horn sessions. All ready to go at the push of a button8) The Digital Audio routing feature is awesome because I can route things to different places depending on which session I am doing. The short of it is this: This mixer does a lot, a lot. And really well. It really is a great purchase for the money. It's pricepoint gives you a lot of capability for the money. Does it sound like an SSL? No, but with some twisting of the knobs, you can get great, great sound out of it, and with all things in balance, and properly eq'd and cleaned up in your mix? for $40,000 less than an SSL I would say that I'm coming out way ahead. I am in Home Studio Heaven!!
