You will not be disappointed. I was a sceptic given that PRS and bone crushing 100watt amps don't seem like something that would go together. I purchased it while keeping my fingers crossed that all the reviews and videos you can find online were not just marketing hype. I can tell you right now it is everything that the hype says it is. Seriously good in every way. The controls are extremely simple and ultra responsive. The cleans are insanely clean with headroom that is through the roof. If you play extreme metal with mountains of gain this may be the amp for you. Even with ludicrous amounts of gain dialed in it stays clear and articulate without turning into a compressed fizzy mess. It is lacking in the "features" department compared to the direction some other manufacturers have been going. I feel that is a positive thing though. It has all the good things you want and need. None of the useless junk that you don't. Very straightforward to use and get killer tones from. If you are looking for an amp that requires more knob turning and button pushing than launching a space shuttle, this isn't the amp for you. If you play metal or hard rock and are already shopping for amps in this price range, do yourself a favor and at least take the Archon for a test drive first.

This amp is amazing. I play mostly metal but this amp is capable of much more. No extra bells and whistles. They spent that time making the important parts right. The cleans are perfect. I use super high output pickups and I call still get a super clean tone. The voicing on the gain channel is beast. The eq is really usable. It looks beautiful. It's something sounds amazing. It gives me everything I want in an amp. This is the only time I've bought an amp and been able to say the hype is real.

"Great Amp!!"

An absolutely great amplifier!! I like the voicing of the Marshall amps for certain styles, and the Mesa voicing for others......this amp seems to sit right there in between, having its own unique voicing that simply works......great job to the PRS team on an astounding build. The amp is very responsive to different p/u's, volume settings and tone woods found on different guitar's. I have no need to use any overdrive as this amp delivers serious distortion....but it stays tight and the sound can easily be shaped to whatever you need, including metal. The quality is top notch, the flamed maple front is a work of art. Every knob and switch speaks quality when it is actuated. No corners were cut on the build. This amp provides the muscle, leaving the effects open for pedals that are up to the discretion of the buyer....which keeps the circuit free of anything that deteriorates sound quality!!!....( if you need midi...buy an amp that is advertised as having midi).
