Great for many uses. I think this is better than Absynth.
Sound
VERY good. If you want a great FM sound, look no further.
Features
I was very impressed at the sound sculpting capabilities of this synth. You could go VERY deep with this one.
Ease of Use
There are sections for simple edits to sounds which I find intuitive. You can get as complex as you are willing to get.

The best FM synth there is.

This will the only FM synth I will ever need.

Native Instruments FM7 Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

NI's most practical and efficient, yet feature-rich soft synth
Sound
you can get some seriously wicked sounds out of this if you know how to program in FM. definitely a "digital" sounding synth though.
Features
it's insane. no other FM synth can hold a candle to it. 8 operators routable in any imaginable way? come on!
Ease of Use
well, it's like alien technology at first. seems really complex. but you get into it and realize it's actually pretty easy.
Quality
totally stable. never crashes. very low CPU! i can run about 10 of these at once on my G4 powerbook 1.5 ghz
Value
for what you can do it's actually a very good value.
Manufacturer Support
never needed it.
The Wow Factor
awesome possibilities with this thing. it's been around for awhile, but that means it is rock solid!
