"Purple People Eater"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Classic Marshall look and sound, what could be better?
Sound
Sound is sooo subjective, this cab though is warmer than say a V30 equipped one, and has the bottom thump you only get from a closed 4 x 12".
Features
You can use it as 2 2x 12"s in a stereo rig, or hook it up mono as 4 or 16 ohms, pretty flexible.
Ease of Use
They're not as heavy as they look! I'd say it's easier to shlep around than my Super Reverb.
Quality
Great quality, same as they've made for years, mines been gigged quite a bit and I bought a cover for it so it still looks pretty much new even after a couple of years.
Value
It's not cheap, but it should last you a long long time.
Manufacturer Support
Can't say though most of the support from music suppliers is only so so in my experience. I hear if your in the UK and can contact Marshall direct they are great to deal with, can't do that here in Canada though.
The Wow Factor
Can't beat the classic Marshall cab, especially with the purple tolex!

"Marshall 425A cabinet best left in the stores"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It is going back or to some other non-suspecting fool.
Sound
Pretty main-stream 4x12 sound. Nothing special. Chinese Celestions and chipboard structure reveal themselves when pushed hard.
Features
Thin plastc handle cups break easily. Input jack panel broke first time out. Wheels at least don't fall off.
Ease of Use
Ease of use? Come on.... it's a loudspeaker for cryin' out loud.
Quality
Pretty cheesey quality as mentioned. Input jack panel broke (the panel itself cracked full-length) first time out. Handle cups are thn and cheap. Partiicle-baord (press board) cabinet and rear baffle are prime examples of cost cutting measures. I will never buy any of the no-vintage garbage again. Purple tolex does not fool us nto thinking this is a cool product, Mr Marshall. Fool me once....
Manufacturer Support
We get no support here.
The Wow Factor
After owning it and careful iinspection, the store can have it back.
