Better than a JCM2000, JSX, KRANK,but Bogner did design the amp.... price one of those heads, you'll have to sell your first kid.All in all the only head I would take over this is a Mesa tripple or Bogner Uber
Sound
cant touch the tone anywhere near what this thing will do for under $1500
Features
every thing in one package. Definately need to buy the shortboad or you wont do anything
Ease of Use
take your time and you can get some realy nice tones out of this
Quality
I have had my head for a year now and tour alot with it and it has lasted way longer than my other gutarists JSX (sounds better too!)I've been a loyal fan for 8 years now
Value
like I said find a head that has the tonal range for under $1500. And my head only cost $799, looks like they are going up in price........I wonder why.........
Manufacturer Support
never had a problem
The Wow Factor
screw how it looks, I care about the sound

"ENGL/MESA is a CRATE compared to this!"

I'm not getting rid of it probably ever. I wish I could buy another one and run them together on seperate cabs. I can't even imagine the glory it would bring. My only wish is that you could update it with more presets, have an audio plugin to play along with songs like the line 6 combos, and a computer hookup to record into your computer directly, if those last 3 features were added to this amp, it would be the debatable to be the best guitar head amplifier ever created.
Sound
All other reviews do not lie about this head. In my opinion one of the top ten heads out there that is so versitile and pure. Its easy to get any sound with the 12 channels to start from scratch. If anybody is looking for one of those insanely brutal sounds and doesn't wanna spend like 2 grand on just the head, then buy this because I compared it to a mesa dual rectifier's metal channel and it matches it if not a little better. Plus the presets are unrelenting including Zakk Wylde's no more tears preset and KSE.
Features
Its got 12 selectable channels and over 300 presets.....WOW. Including a tuner which is dead on accurate and precise. A built in noise gate along with 7 effects! AND you can save up to 4 sounds that you like with the a b c and d buttons.
Ease of Use
Its very easy to figure out. You have a 4 way button pad for presets, and enough lights and channel designs to play with forever. haha
Quality
Its got 4 6l6 tubes with 2 12AX7B tubes....COME ON THATS SICK. It has amazing quality on every channel that you try to mess with and it can stay clear with tone even when turned at very low volume unlike MOST tubed heads. I turned it on like 1 and a half and it shook my house floors because it has soo much balls and kick to it.
Value
I feel like the luckiest person in the world and its worth much more than what the price is, my only regret is that I can't afford another one before they get discontinued :(.
Manufacturer Support
Zzounds is amazing I actually talked to people that were down to earth and understood what I was talking about and could joke with instead of guitar center's high prices along with workers who try to get you to buy something because they get commission.
The Wow Factor
Its got more lights to watch then a rave night club. The front panel lights up and reminds me of a panther getting ready to strike down the life out of its prey.

"great....if it works"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I will be looking to relpace mine because I can't trust it on the road having seen my other two guitar player's heads crap out on them, one in mid- performance!
Sound
sound is as good as a marshall jvm
Features
features are awesome!
Ease of Use
once you get the hang of it its easy to program/use
Quality
I play in two bands. both of my guitar players bought this amp, one didn't work out of the box, the other broke within 5 months. It took a whole month to get it fixed and then it broke with in 30 minutes of playing it. (both amps just power off by themselves and then turn back on by themselves in mid-play.)
Value
great value if it works.....plays like a 2000 dollar amp.
Manufacturer Support
if you buy the gold warranty, the manufaturer doesnt help you, you have to send it to an authorized repair center and you have to pay the shipping!!!
The Wow Factor
it is sexy for sure, just hope yours works.

"Line-6 owner...6 week review."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If I ever replace this amp, it would be to find something more simple. I originally went to the guitar store looking for a reasonably priced tube amp. I wanted at least 100watts and a half-stack. I was thinking Marshall (owned em before) but due to price constraints I broadened my options. The salesman kept steering me toward the line-6, but I resisted. Eventually I brought one home, and am very happy with it. I am no guitar virtuoso, however I have been playing for about a dozen years. I mostly have played metal, and hard-rock. This amp is great for that, but also for blues and other stuff. In fact, due to all of the various pre-sets, it kinda motivates me to venture out into other styles. If this amp were to be stolen from me, I honestly would probably not buy another. I say this because it is a lot more than I need. An amp with a clean channel and an over-drive is enough for me. But if you want an amp with a butt-load of special features, this is it.
Sound
The sound is excellent. Of course it is a tube amp, so that is to be expected. Some of the effects sound very digital though, but through a decent cab, I would rate the sound at a 9. (Thinking a classic Marshall jcm 900 is a 10)
Features
Dude, you can't beat this amp as far as features go. In fact, if I had to make a complaint about this amp, it would be that there are TOO MANY FEATURES!!! Probably more than anyone would ever really need. Although I suppose if you were in a very versitle "cover band" then you could better appreciate all of the pre-sets.
Ease of Use
A bit tricky at first. It isn't rocket science, but it may take a while to dial in your own sound.
Quality
So far, so good. I have owned it about 6 weeks, and played it probably several combined hours. No problems yet.
Value
Very good value, if it is what you are looking for. I've heard solid-state line-6 amps before, and they always sounded too digitized, or thin. This is a tube amp, and even if you never took advantage of any of the built in effects, and/or pre-sets, the tube sound in itself is great.
Manufacturer Support
Can't answer this one, as I haven't needed to call customer service yet.
The Wow Factor
Looks great, and has cool different colored lights, that back-light certain features when they are activated.

"Line 6 Spider valve HD100..my new favorite amp!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I will be satisfied until it breaks, then we will see... I would buy another one cause I use lots of different guitars and play a wide variety of songs. Perfect for my top 40 band (sorry) and my metal band, and my country riffs!
Sound
Have had my Line 6 HD100 for 4 months now, I have the FBV shortboard, play it thru a celestion 4X12 cab. It is absolutely AWSOME! I play in two bands that range from country to rock, blues, funk, metal. It covers all the bases! I use 3 guitars and utilize the 36 user programmable presets to get the perfect sound with each guitar.
Features
I have used the amp in the studio and it just shines! The "POD" XLR output is great going straight into the board. The tone that you get live is the tone that gets recorded. I love not having to mic my cab with all those attendant hassles. I love the Shortboard, it gives me the ability to move and edit presets into the user programmable presets, I usually edit the presets to fit whwat I like. I set up my presets USUALLY with the effect turned off when you jump to the new preset, then after you get there I stomp the effect on.
Ease of Use
Wellll, the SpiderValve with FBV is easy to use. The "hard" part lies in the fact that there are hundreds of different presets to review. I spent over 60 hours overall to come up with 30 or so GREAT SOUNDS. I need everything from ultra-clean "twang-tone" to killer metal sound. I finally found it in this amp. If you are lazy this amp may not be for you, but if you are a person that is dedicated to your sound, you will be hard pressed to find a better all around battle axe/amp.
Quality
The look if this amp is really cool, love the little touches. Like I said I have only had it for four months, but I have played it every day since I bought it and it has hung in there like a champ.
Value
The value is great. Only drawback would be that in order to get the most of what this amp is supposed to do is YOU NEED TO BUY THE SHORTBOARD! The shortboard is what gives this amp its versatility and it costs extra! Dont be a cheapass, get the board!
Manufacturer Support
FIVE because I DONT KNOW YET! Havent had to service it yet.
The Wow Factor
Great amp, still Nothing has the sexiness of a Marshall!
