"2001 JS1 Jackson Dinky simply Brilliant!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
well i have had this 2001 JS1 JACKSON DINKY for 9 years and i still get complaments on its tone and sustain. this jackson compares to any USA made model hands down and its even better than some of the USA model jacksons no doubt! i like everything about this guitar and more. its simply a Brilliant! guitar. i would not buy the india cedro wood jacksons. the 2001 JS1 Jackson Dinky cant be replaced so i keep my guitars under lock and key.
Sound
i have a 2001 JS1 Jackson with a 4 piece select Alder body. the 2001 JS1 jackson Dinky models. have been classified by many pro guitarist to be pro rated and i do agree. the tone on this baby matches any USA model jackson the stock JE10 PU'S ARE SIMPLY FANTASTIC! i have kept mine stock for 9 years because i havent heard any other humbucker that sounds better than the stock JE10'S. THIS GUITAR SREAMS METAL and top qualty!
Features
it has everything i need and more.
Ease of Use
very easy to use the neck is very smooth and fast.
Quality
like i said this is the 2001 JS1 Jackson Dinky i'm talking about. the quality of craftmanship is A+ IT'S CRAFTED with a 4 piece select Alder body and the electronics are fantastic also. the 500k volume and tone pots are 9 years old in my 2001 JS1 jackson and still works and sound like it did when i first bought it in 2001. the 2001 JS1 JACKSON DINKY is pro quality all the way. i can not say that about the ones that were crafted with india cedro woods. i personaly know 3 pro players that use the 2001 JS1 JACKSON DINKY with the Alder body in the studio and playing live on stage and they love theres like i do mine.
Value
they dont make these anymore but if they did and made them the same way they did in 2001 with the Alder body and great electronics this jackson is worth a lot more than what it sold for and i do mean a lot more! every guitarist i have talked to who own's a 2001 JS1 MODEL say's it matches most USA made jackson models when it comes to quality/tone and feel.
The Wow Factor
2001 JS1 JACKSON DINKY is simply a top quality and a fantastic guitar hands down! i use this guitar along with my usa made strats.i would like to have another one but there hard to find and the guitarist that have them wont sell and i dont blame them

"Incredible sustain and pickups!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This is a diamond in the rough for sure! Mine is over 12 yrs old. No wonder few if any are ever for sale online. Mine has INCREDIBLE sustain! And the pickups are incredible! The have the clarity and highs of single coil pickups, but their humbuckers. They make my Vibrolux Amps sound absolutely incredible. Chords above the 12th fret STILL ring out forever! Must be the body wood or neck or something. Truely this guitar is MUCH more than a so called starter guitar. I love it. And heck with all the reviews that say its a metal guitar, it's a rocker, with clean chords, not just a dull mesh like my SG with humbuckers puts out.

Ex-pro, still very active composing

"ONE OF THE VERY BEST!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
SIMPLY ONE OF THE BEST HARD ROCK AND METAL GUITAR EVER MADE!
Sound
i have a 2001 JS1 jackson dinky reverse headestock, 22 jumbo frets maple neck rosewood finger board. 2 original stock humbucker pick ups also the 2 500k tone and volume pots are original and still sound like they did 9 years ago when i first bought the guitar. my 2001 JS1 JACKSON came with a 4 piece select Alder body not the india cedro body. so right off the bat the quality of wood is much better on my 2001 JS1 MODEL. THE ELECTRONICS ARE ALSO MUCH BETTER on my 2001 JS1 jackson Dinky than the india made JS1 Models. the tone of mt 2001 is simply superior.and the 2001 JS1 MODELS HAVE BEEN COMPARED TO MOST USA MODEL JACKSON GUITARS.
Features
EVERYTHING IS USEFUL ON THIS CLASSIC BABY materials/parts are A+ MY 2001 JS1 JACKSON DINKY ID 9 YEARS OLD AND LIKE I SAID STILL GOING STRONG WITH ALL ITS original parts!
Ease of Use
the pickups are simply fantastic and its very easy to go from one style of music to the next with out changing guitars. and its one of the most easyist guitars to play!
Quality
the BODY OF THE 2001 JS1 JACKSON DINKY GUITAR is crafted with 4 PIECE Alder woods. FROM 2003 TO ITS DISCONTINUATION IN 2008 THE JS1 MODELS WERE CRAFTED WITH 5 TO 6 PIECE INDIA CEDRO WOODS (CEDER) AND THE ELECTRONICS WERE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE 2001 JS1 JACKSON models. THE 2001 JS1 JACKSON DINKY IS CRAFTED VERY SOLID DONT HAVE TO EVER WORRY ABOUT IT I CAN NOT SAY THE SAME FOR THE NEW JS MODELS.
Value
THIS GUITAR IS WORTH ALOT MORE THAN WHAT IT WAS SELLING FOR THE 2001 JS1 JACKSON DINKY IS SIMPLY PRO QUALITY!
