Friedman BE-Mini Guitar Amplifier Head (30 Watts)

Big tone out of a small box! The Friedman BE-Mini has that trademark Friedman high-gain sound while packing 30 watts and an onboard effects loop.

This small amp packs some serious sound! I have never been disappointed with anything Friedman and this little amp is no different. If you get a chance to score one of these you will not be disappointed.

Amazing tube like tones from a solid state amp. Super portable. Crank a Strat through it and hear it wail. Don't expect clean tones; this amp is high gain. Club friendly, can easily handle a club gig.

Just my luck the price on this drops $50 the day after I buy it. Not complaining though. This is a beast. I paired it with a Blackstar HT-112 50w cab. I have a variety of guitars from metal monsters to hollowbodies. Been playing with the amp settings and different guitars to check out what this thing can do. When I plugged my Danelectro 59 NOS into this thing, that was it. That was the sound I was looking for. Wow. Highly recommended pairing if you ask me. There is ZERO clean on this amp. It starts with dirt and gets raunchier from there. I keep the gain at 9:00. That's all I'll ever need. I have a couple tube amps and this is my second solid state. The other solid state (an 80's Kustom Lead III) sits in the corner. A Blues Deluxe Reissue for spank, twangy, clean and a little crunch, a Peavey Bravo 112 (tube amp) because the Blues Deluxe only gets so crunchy, and now this Friedman BE-Mini is now my go-to when I want to put some hair on my chest. Get it. You won't be disappointed!

Great little piece of kit. Plugged it into a cheap 1x12 cab, verb into the loop, TS9 in the front as a clean boost.....WHOAA! Immediate early metal/thrash sound (think early Anthrax, Megadeath, Metalica, ect). Super fun!!! Can't wait to use it w/ my tube amp, then 4cm method with GX100.

Running this into a 4x12 Marshall cabinet. Pushes it no problem, tons of bottom end. This truly sounds more like a Marshall than my Marshalls. Instantly fell in love. It's hard to get any true clean tone out of it, but it can happen if you really roll your volume back. Even then it still sounds amazing. Easily loud enough to gig with, tone for days. Absolutely love it, no regrets at all. The sound I've been looking for. 10 out of 10, no question about it.

I watched several videos online about this amp, did as much research as I could and given my limited budget decided that this would be my best option. I was running the amp through 2 Marshall 1x12 cabinets with G12T75 speakers installed, these are older made in England cabinets. From the moment I plugged in the tone was “blah” Now, I was not expecting this to be a BE100 but, I am a huge fan of the BE-OD and figured this would be like that with a clean power amp… Not exactly. This amp has the classic “blanket over the speaker” thing going on and no matter what I did I could not dial it out. On top of that it sounds extremely loose and fizzy, nothing like the BE pedal. Every time I plugged into the amp I found myself adjusting controls just trying to get something that wasn’t a raging disappointment, no luck. If you tried to venture into modern territory the amp became a fart factory with no definition and no tightness at all, regardless of the control settings. I bought an overdrive to try to clean boost the front and tighten it up but due to the solid state build it had no effect what so ever. I honestly couldn’t get rid of this amp fast enough. It frustrated me to the point that I didn’t even want to pick up the guitar. So, I traded it for a Peavey valve king, not an amp known for it’s tone prowess but I am so much happier now. I very highly recommend zZounds though, as always everything ships very quickly and is brand new in the box as advertised. The payment plans cannot be beat. Thanks zZounds!
