Long time guitar player and first time online purchase of any instrument. Overall the guitar looks great, it just was handled poorly. I wonder if it was played or used a lot.before the strat got to me. It is missing screws whIch tells me it plates were worked in or not installed correctly. The tremelo bridge is also very hugh making the action on the higher frets almost impossible to play. Debating on returning the item or fixing problem myself. Shipping and financing is only thing that I can say was great. I never get myself nicer things and dont feel good about my overall purchase.

The guitar has so many quality/build issues. mine came with the b and high e strings switched. The high e would barely ring out, the nut slots for the b and high were slotted by some one that didn't care or didn't know how to do it correctly. The action was a mess too. The neck had too much back bow. The plastic plate that covers the springs on the back of the guitar had little plastic "spikeys" all over the edges. zZounds gave me a $165 discount if I wanted to keep the guitar, and at that time I wanted to keep it. I figured a setup would fix everything.I called Fender customer service and they told me to take it to a certified Fender technician. Luckily He lives 10 miles away. So, he showed me the truss rod was also disengaged along with the other issues. He told me Fender wouldn't pay him just for a nut filing (I confirmed with fender that wasn't a big enough issue for a warranty claim. I paid him $75 for a full setup with new strings (very reasonable). He did a nice job. He told me the guitar had .010s on it. It's spec sheet from Fender says Fender .09s and on zZounds specs it says Fender USA 250LR Nickel Plated Steel (.009-.046 Gauges). huh.I got it back from the guitar tech. This strat played great for about 5 days. Then a few days ago, it's buzzing when I play harmonics at the 12th fret on every string. Then the strings start buzzing at the nut. Then it won't stay in tune. Then the high e is back to being muted. The intonation is terrible now. zZounds tells me they do not do setups or change the instruments. Fender said they don't have a clue about anything under the sun. This guitar is either used or b stock or just a scam. I'll never buy a guitar from zZounds again. I'm so disappointed. I own and have owned many guitars and many Stratocasters over the last 30 years. This is the only one I've wanted to smash through an online stores window. I'm gonna be done with Fender too.DO NOT BUY!!!!!
