"TC G Natural. Everything you should have, and some you shouldn't."
I will stick with this unit for lots of reasons. The noise annoys me. I will try putting a noise filter into the case, but I shouldn't have to is the point##. I think the crashes are less now I do less editing.
Sound
The sound quality is excellent. The delays are smooth and choruses are great. I love the Tremolo. But. The unit is noisy!!! And selecting many patches adds more noise. Yes. I have tried lots of set ups, been over it with an SPL meter and compared it to other cheap mossie boxes, and sorry, but it is noisier. Otherwise, I would have given it 9 for sound. Sorry Chaps.
Features
Nice simple editing. It should have a XLR DI out. Big oversight. Onboard phantom power is cool for Mic input. It would be nice to adjsut the brightness of the LED's.
Ease of Use
It has a manual. I can't remember if I read it or not. That is the way it should be. Dead easy to use. I was looking at buying a Boss multi FX unit when buying this TC, but couldn't work out how to use it. Then the shop assistant came over, and after 20 minutes with the manual, still couln't do basic features. The TC, minute and a half. Done deal.
Quality
Solid. Robust. But the unit keeps crashing on boot up??? When I first got it and doing a lot of edits, would fail to boot up usually 2 or 3 times, once failed 15 times in a row.!! Hmmm. Not good. Has been fine for a while, did some more edits… read more yesterday, and guess what, crashed on boot up again. The boot up crashes seem to be related to the amount of editing you do. It is my main gig unit. I have been quite worried.
Value
If it didn't crash and wasn't noisy, I wuld give it a 9
Manufacturer Support
Support was good. Emailed through, and they replied. Hey! (No-one else does.)
The Wow Factor
Yep. I wanted it. I have a couple of TC rack effects and the sound quality and ease of use won me completely. I was expecting the same. And the solid build. Cool.
