Sound
I have been doing live sound for over 20 years. i was wanting to buy a few Neumann KMS105n mics just to have a very high end and reputable brand for live recordings. when i saw a photo of the CL5 i thought it was the Neumann until i investigated further. I compared the specs for both mics side by side. They were so close on paper that i decided to give the a shot. I am very pleased. I put them side by side with my EV RE510, and my RODE M2 condenser. The Samson had better sound quality and better monitor feedback rejection than either of them . They have become my #1 vocal mics. I had Gospel recording artist Walter Johnson do a test with them at my church. I put them up against Shure Beta 58&87, EV767, Sennheiser 835 and AKG C5. He chose the Samson hands down.
