zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Provide power to two mics without generating audio noise with the Rolls dual phantom power adapter. This unit works with any mixer and powers all phantom mics.
Overview
The PB223 is for powering phantom powered microphones with 48VDC. Since the units use a 100KHz switching power supply there is no audio noise generated. They have output pull down resistors so they will work with any mixer and have 2DC jacks so several units can use one adapter. The PB223 powers two microphones.

"Rolls PB223 quiet phantom power"

I got two of these to power microphones for an R16 recorder. They are much quieter than the preamp with phantom power that I got first (which suffered from both resistor noise and power hum) I am using "amateur quality" microphones so it is not difficult for the PB223 to get below the noise threshold of the mics and the preamps of the R16. The final system does have white noise but much less than it had. There is no 60/120 cycle hum at all and there is no resistor noise as far as I can detect. In this most sensitive area of the system the microphones seem to be the source of what is for me an acceptable level of white noise. I have never need support from Rolls
