Humbuckers. Set neck. Pearl block inlays.

With their ever-evolving array of exotic chord structures and articulate arpeggios, jazz and fusion guitar players must be able to reach each note on the fretboard with ease and comfort. The Peavey JF-1 combines a classic jazz-style guitar design with modern Peavey pickups and several features tailored for maximum comfort and playability. By slightly accentuating the neck angle and employing a set neck design, access to the upper register of the JF-1 is unencumbered, making this guitar completely comfortable -- an instant extension of the guitarist's imagination.

The JF-1 also features a thin, lightweight Maple-ply guitar body, Maple neck with Rosewood fretboard and pearl block inlays, quilt cap and Cream binding on the body, 2 Peavey humbucking pickups, 2 volume controls, 2 tone controls and a 3-way, toggle-style pickup selector.

After playing off and on for over forty years this is the last one for me - at least so my wife tells me.........
Sound
It doesn't sound too great on it's own but plugged into an amp it takes on a whole new meaning. If you've been playing only solid guitar like I have then the wider neck takes a bit of getting used to, but if you are looking for a completely different sound then you can't go wrong at the price. It has a deep rich tone - even with factory strings. A set of Gibsons's should enhance it even more but I have no plans to change them at the moment.
Features
The volume and tone controls look a bit cheap but nothing that can't be fixed with some replacements.
Quality
I said the volume and tone controls looked cheap and that's a shame for the guitar with it's gold fittings is utterly beautiful otherwise. It's extremely well made and the finish outstanding and I reckon it could easily stand on it's own against the more expensive guitars of this type. I see no reason why it couldn't be used regularly at gigs but depending on your taste in music.
Value
The guitar is a steal at $300!!
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed to use the support site yet but if the instrument is representative of Peavey quality then I see no problems.
The Wow Factor
I had almost despaired after shopping around for similar instruments in this price range, but when I saw the JF 1 in black it was love at first sight!! Can't say more that that. (Change the style of volume and tone controls please!!)
