I've been on something of a tear here recently with PRS SE guitars, one of which is an SE Custom 24-08. This Special Semi-Hollow SE uses that same switching system, with the two mini-toggles for coil-tapping, except that with the Narrowfield "S" in the middle, you get a total of twelve (as opposed to eight) variations. Getting as much versatility as possible from a guitar is very important to me, and this guitar has that...and more. The 58-15 "S" pickups have a great warm tone with a lot of range without too much edge and tap for single-coil tones very nicely, and the Narrowfield "S" in the middle adds its own character mixed with the other two in either option. The setup was great right out of the box, action nice and low just as I like it. And the finish is really eye-catching- I got the Charcoal Burst since I tend to favor a more subdued look, but honestly, any one of the three options would have worked for me.In short, this guitar is a keeper. It and my SE Custom 24-08 are my "desert island" guitars- they'd be the last to go if I had to give up any of the fourteen or so I have now. I haven't had a guitar before these two that I've decided to invest in upgrading slightly- specifically changing out the stock tuners (which are fine) in favor of a set of PRS locking tuners.
