NUX NAI-5 Optima Air Acoustic Guitar Simulator Pedal

zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Perfect for the guitarist looking for an all-in-one tone machine, the NUX NAI-5 Optima Air acoustic sim lets you explore multiple sounds with one guitar.
Overview
NUX Optima Air is a dual-switch acoustic guitar simulator with a preamp for acoustic and electric guitar players. It simulates the acoustic guitar profiles with the best-optimized sound depending on your guitar and pickup type.
The IR section gives you 15 built-in acoustic guitar profiles, and it also support 3rd party IRs. The preamp section is modeled after the famous Neve 1073 by using white-box algorithm. It is equipped with a 3-band EQ and Gain controls. And there is an additional one-knob-control Reverb effect. You can connect other effect pedals to the built-in SEND/RETURN effect loop and use the XLR jack of the Optima Air as D.I. Out. There is also a headphones output for silent play and auxiliary input to connect a music player to play along.
NUX Optima Air has a unique profile capture function. You can create your own acoustic guitar profile (IR file) by capturing your favorite acoustic guitar's sound.
If you are a gigging guitarist or home recording musician, you will find the Optima Air very convenient, because you don't have to bring different guitar types, and the Optima Air also works as a USB Audio interface.

I’ve been using the Optima Air for several months now and have been quite pleased with its performance. I run a Gibson G-45 Studio (w/ a Fishman Sonitone) through it, and it does a phenomenal job resurrecting my tone from that horrible piezo “zing.” The preloaded IR files aren’t bad (I especially like the Martin D-45 and Taylor 314 settings); however, where it really shines is the ability to load third-party IR’s. I got one for a Gibson J-45 and it just about nailed my guitar’s natural, unplugged tone. The ability to EQ your tone and add reverb is also a nice addition—I set the reverb to about 1/3 and LOVE the sound. Before this, I used a Fishman Aura Spectrum DI (similar tech) but actually prefer the Optima Air.My only gripes: Wish it had an onboard tuner, and I wish it took a 9V battery (you’ll need to buy an adapter).Otherwise, great product!
