zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Improve your sound with this compression pedal, which delivers a vintage sound that Joe Meek would be proud of today.

The floorQ is basically a Joemeek Optical Compressor in a pedal. "We realized that a lot of guitarists and bass players were buying our studio gear - such as the twinQ - just to put their guitars through" says PMI President Alan Hyatt. "They loved what the compressor did for their sound but it wasn't very practical from a live performance point of view. Actually the same circuit is in our small threeQ box but it still ain't a pedal, so we decided to give them one!"

The floorQ also boasts a high impedance JFET input, Class-A preamplifier with an Input Level control, so even with the Compressor switched out, the pedal makes an excellent front end and level matcher for all types of guitar amps.

"We sell the pedals with our standard 12V AC wall wart, but you can plug in anything with a standard power connector, that gives anywhere from 9V to 18V - AC or DC; the Meek pedals don't care, so you can use whatever supply you have on your pedal board for running all of your pedals," adds Hyatt.

Another Stupid question. I will not search for another product. TH sidoest the job better than expected, I will buy my own unit when the tour is over, or try to do a deal to get this one off the company.

Sound
Absolute classic sounds, sent tingles down my spine, it recalled so may 60's sounds. Also absolutely usable for any modern situation.

Features
Pretty good control here, attack, release, slope, compress, plus input & output. Not too much, not too little. The buffer & gain/output levels are priceless when matching levels live. Unbelievably easy to use - set & forget. ...when I turned it off, I was shocked how much it does to improve the sound.

Ease of Use
Watch the YouTube demos & read the manual, pretty easy to get the hang of, & no need to keep messing once it's set. Total class, studio sound, but live. Please note - I only used this on acoustic guitar, for which it is absolute magic live. So far I've done over 50 gigs in many different situations (& countries!) using the Meek FloorQ, always easy to get spectacular results. Whilst I believe it will sound great with bass & other instruments too, my live, pro-level experience with this unit is only with acoustic guitar.

Quality
This is the best compresor in pedal format I have ever used. Period. I'm buying my own as soon as the tour is over.

Value
No idea. I will read more buy my own unit regardless of price as it does the job perfectly, very musical.

Manufacturer Support
No experience of this. Unit provided by tour company, has worked faultlessly. I'm going to buy my own one as soon as the tour is over (..another 2 months!)

The Wow Factor
Sorry, stupid question. I'm a pro musician working 5-6 nights a week, 50 weeks a year. I have no interest in "sex appeal " of the product. It does the job. It does it extremely well. It's the best compressor pedal I've used in over 30 years. I couldn't care less what it looks like. Stupid question.
