Overview

The powerful SZ is a relatively recent offshoot of the Ibanez S family. Like the S, the SZ is Mahogany and sized perfectly for performance. But the SZ is thicker for even more screaming, fat Mahogany tone and its 25.1 in. neck has a different feel than the 25.5 in. scale of the S. And if the SZ is ever so slightly heavier in weight, its shaped contours make up for any difference with a physical comfort that's almost obscene.

yeah i didn't like the pickups. that doesn't mean they're not great. just wrong company. other than that this guitar blew me away. and it still does. ibanez did a good thing here by making this guitar. i might even get the black one.

Sound

personal preference of pickups. the duncan ibanez get the job done by far. but i'm a dimarzio guy. so i changed them

if this thing had an ebony fretboard i would pay anything. string thru body makes for great sustain. add a comp. sustain pedal and be amazed. volume, tone knobs, and pickup selector do what you'd expect. i love Ibanez necks, but this surprised me. it's comfortable. the bridge also helps with sustain and is solid. easy to adjust action

Ease of Use

plug in. turn on amp. set tone to your usual preference and see what a good guitar can do to your amp and pedals. it's that simple

Quality

for a guitar in this price range. one of the best guitars i've played. i was honestly taken back. the only other guitar i found was my schecter. and this thing replaced it as my main guitar. JUST LOOK AT IT

Value

you get every penny back the day you take it out of the box. and play it. i hope ibanez makes a floyd rose sz in white. then i'd be set with guitar for life
