"First Les Paul since the mid 80's, and I'm glad I pulled the trigger"

As a survivor of the rock scene in Southern California in the 80's and 90's, my guitar universe was full of Ibanez, Frankenstrats, and Charvels until two months ago. Something pulled me towards a Les Paul for the first time, and now, I can't put it down. The build quality is dead on, the tones are amazing, now that the neck has some hours on it, it's smooth as butter, and the feel is perfect. I am totally in love with this guitar, and feel bad for my other guitars for not playing them much in the last two months. I would highly suggest the new Les Paul Standards, they are everything that made the Les Paul the icon it rightfully is. All of the issues with Les Pauls 10 years ago are gone, this think was perfect and setup like a gem right out of the box.I played the 50's and 60's models before buying from zZounds, and coming from compound radius and relatively fast necks on my other guitars, I went with the 60's version. The slimmer version neck is fast, easy to bend the hell out of, and even with my large hands offers enough meat to feel really solid. This thing is a beast, can't recommend it any higher.
Sound
This is a Swiss Army Knife of a guitar, playing anything from slow Blues to Zeppelin can all be dialed in with the volume and tone knobs, it's just an amazing guitar.
Quality
The build quality issues I'd heard about just aren't there. This guitar was perfect out of the box. My tech went to set it up, and literally… read more tuned it and was done. The confidence that this guitar could pull off anything is there.
Value
I'd say it's a bit expensive, but definitely worth it.
The Wow Factor
This is a beautiful instrument. I can't even hang it on my wall with my other guitars, it is on a stand right next to my amp jso I can grab it instantly. It's so beautiful it makes me smile just looking at it.
Musical Background:
Been playing since 1979, played in bands through the 80's and 90's, survived the Hollywood rock scene, and would do it all again
Musical Style:
Rock and Blues. Firmly believe that volume makes most things better. read less
