The Les Paul Standard wields two of Gibson's celebrated Burstbucker Pro pickups. These powerful humbuckers deliver the bold, thick tones of a classic Les Paul with robust midrange and engrossing low end. This Les Paul takes things a step further, with versatile split-coil functionality. Both volume knobs double as a push-pull switches, which transform their respective Burstbuckers into a tuneful single-coil pickup. Beyond the coil tapping, one of the tone knobs functions as a phase switch, while the other engages a "pure bybass" feature to send a signal directly from the bridge pickup to the output jack. Between the clear, ringing tones of the single-coil setting, and the fat, thumping tones of the humbucker, the 2013 Les Paul Standard offers an enormous range of excellent sonic textures to work with.

A compound radius rosewood fingerboard allows for comfort, speed and precision at all points up and down the neck of the Gibson 2013 Les Paul Standard Plus. It accommodates lower string height while achieving unrestricted, smooth, upper-register string bending. The famous mahogany neck with '60s Slim Taper profile allows for comfort, speed and playability.

Hardware

A high-quality Switchcraft output jack ensures a perfect connection to your cable allowing the purest signal to leave the guitar. Locking Grover tuners enhance tuning stability and make string changes a breeze. Tone Pros Tune-o-Matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece ensure precise intonation and solid connection between the strings and the body for maximum sustain and tone.

Pickups and Electronics

Burstbucker Pro pickups deliver the Gibson legacy of muscular, defined tone. In addition to volume control, each volume knob splits a humbucker to single coil. Frequency-tuned 'Fat Tap' coil tapping creates a fatter single coil tone with great output and balance when switching from dual to single coils. Single coil configurations are specially designed to be hum-reducing.

In addition to controlling tone, one tone knob is a phase switch which allows for diverse tonal flavors, especially when used in combination with the coil-splitting feature. The other engages the 'Pure Bypass' circuit which sends the bridge pickup signal straight to the output jack to deliver the most direct, pure and dynamic signal possible.

This is the 5th Gibson les Paul I've owed over my 20+ years playing and by far my favorite of all, I have smaller hands so I welcome the thinner flatter neck much better then the one on my traditional but I'll still be buried with that one too I never write reviews but for this guitar and gibson just deserves a great review but I'm a man of few words so that's it just play it yourself and be ready to fall in love

Sound
Coil taps are great to me nothing beats a single coil clean sound , and it can do any type of music you fancy. Just a totally bad ass machine

Like I said the coil taps are suburb wish the bypass one was easier to pull up though

Ease of Use
After I put some super slinks on it lowered the bridge just a hair and just barely tweaked the truss rod it plays soo sweet and the action is super low now with no buzz at all I can slip my pick underneath my high e at the 15th fret and it'll stick by itself

Quality
Although I have been disappointed in the past with a couple of gibsons guitars that I've owned this one stands tall just everything on this baby screams quality

Well $2500 plus dollars isn't easy to hide from the misses but if you play your cards right you'll be fine hahahahaha, I mean hey if she can spend $150 on one new pair of pants every couple weeks that she'll hate after the first time she… read more wears em then I can get this beauty and love it for the rest of my life and come out way ahead

From the moment I opened the case I've been breathless (got the desert burst to anyone who's on the fence about a finish look no more then that finish it's jaw dropping)
