the usual line with most things is you get what you pay for. In this case you far more get than what you pay for. This driver in the right cabinet sitting on the floor will pound as hard as the jbl, ev, etc. In reality this is the only 18 inch speaker you would ever need. Roll off from 40 hz down and make sure you don't under power it you will be happy
