I have a 2018 edition ML79 and a few other Deans. One is a 7 string with EMGs. I have a Jackson V and a Kramer. The 2021 quilted maple ML is already my favorite. It sustains like none of the others. It chugs harder than the others. Responsive. Clear. There are times when I’ve had issues using noise gates with other guitars. This new MLX-QM rings sustain through the noise gate like not even my active pickup, set neck 7 can. It also sounds darker than my ML79 and Dean Z. It looks like they’re using new pots. The quilt looks even better than pictures. It shifts in the light like a hologram. Little detail, it doesn’t say MLX on the truss rod cover. It looks and plays like a much more expensive guitar.
