Compatible with Beyerdynamic's Headphone Lab DAW Plug-in

Available for download on the Beyerdynamic website, Headphone Lab is a DAW plug-in that works with specific models of Beyerdynamic headphones to simulate the sound of a high-end studio environment. Unlike conventional headphone listening, which delivers isolated signals to each ear, Headphone Lab employs a sophisticated crossfeed model that accounts for frequency-dependent time and level differences and incorporates industry-leading Head-Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs). An innovative low-frequency approach ensures accurate bass reproduction without phase issues or artifacts, resulting in a centered, natural soundstage ideal for critical listening, mixing, and mastering.

They've been around forever - and are still just as good as ever. Chose these over the DT 990s simply for the 80 ohms option. Having headphones that can still be driven by a laptop or small interface without struggle makes for a much more usable everyday option. These are comfortable, have excellent clarity, and above all - minimal fatigue. The fit is snug but not tight like a Sennheiser HD. Perfectly comfortable for long sessions. The cup pads are soft and breathable - much better than the synthetic plastic/pleather pads on other models. Sound is flat and accurate overall - I do not find the highs to be too bright - in fact I find that the upper end clarity means I am slightly more conservative with them in the mix - making the final product translate exceptionally well to what the consumer will listen on eq'ed speakers and headphones. If you want to make a complaint - it would be nice if the cable was interchangeable; and the carrying bag isn't as nice as they used to be back in the day. My last set of Beyerdynamic headphones lasted me 20 years - for that I will happily forgive 2 small niggles.
