Easy to buy everything you need in one shot. Perfectly adequate to start learning. Cheap enough that if you don't enjoy it, you haven't blown a bundle. If you know you're going to be serious about playing bass, though, spend the extra money to get the quality you'll need to last a few years.
Sound
The bass itself is reasonably well-made. Feels and sounds about like a Precision ought to, though the pickups are susceptible to noise. The amp is simple and loud enough for practice, but very noisy even with the volume at zero. Perfectly fine for home recording if you're willing to spend a little time on the EQ and noise.
Features
Features? You will replace the strap and the cable almost immediately. The gig bag is OK for going to a lesson but not for anything more extreme. The video is probably nice if you're an absolute novice.
Quality
For beginners, you're likely to outgrow it before it breaks.
Value
Let's put it this way -- when I'm ready to upgrade, it won't be to a $300 or $400 bass, but to something closer to $1,000.
Manufacturer Support
Forget trying to order replacement parts for this bass. They're not in the Fender catalog in any of the music stores I went to, you can't buy them from the Fender web site, and they're not standard sizes. My pickguard broke once in shipping and I had to have a new one custom made.
The Wow Factor
Looks even better with my new black pickguard.
