Overview
Rugged, bare bones and packed full of tone! Made in Canada, the Seagull Excursion Series sets a benchmark in affordable, quality crafted North American made acoustic guitars.
It was a very difficult task to create a Canadian made acoustic guitar with this level of build quality while making it so incredibly affordable. However, Seagull's fine team of luthiers in Princeville Quebec rose to the challenge and made it happen!
Also, similar to the S6 Slim, the Excursion models feature the Seagull Slim neck with a 1.72" nut width, which is great for players who are more accustomed to a more traditional nut width.
As with all models in this Excursion Walnut series, the Excursion Walnut Mini-Jumbo SG features a solid spruce top and walnut back and sides made of a 3-layer lamination of real hardwood. Other features include a burn stamped rosette, semi-gloss Custom Polished finish, and Seagull Slim neck.
- 3-layer lamination of real hardwood
- Rosewood Fingerboard & Bridge
- Silver Leaf Maple Neck
- Solid spruce top with 3-layer laminated Walnut back & sides

First the guitar is slimmed down on looks and details. If your looking for a guitar with more bling and details then buy another model of seagull. I bought this guitar to take with me to the park, lessons and practice. I must say the guitar for the price range really sounds great and projects very well. I was very impressed by this guitar and now reach for it a lot instead of pulling out one of my Martins that I used for shows and jams. The guitar can take heavy strumming and sounds great when flat picked. The neck is smoothe and I would rate it towards the fast side. I thought at first when I first took it out of the box what did I just buy. Then I played it. and was hooked from the start. This guitar is great fro the park and such as I intend to use it. However I would highly reccomend it for a beginner. The guitar is also ment to be finger picked and has a 1.72 nut. I feel the Walnut version here is really a simple yet very good looking guitar with a little factory pride thrown into boot.
Musical Background:
I own Martin Guitars and Loar Mandolins. I play in Jams, Stage performances, nursing Homes and home and park.
Musical Style:
Bluegrass, Gospell and some country
