Well to my surprise the Music Man tone is definitely In this instrament. I own 2-Ernie Ball Stingray5’s and absolutely love them for their tonal versatility. I bought the Sterling as a way to stop gigging my originals and to be honest I wanted to see if the Sterling could reproduce the original MusicMan tone. To my surprise it can. Setup was great out the box. The hardware and electronics are outstanding. The paint has that sparkles in it what a beautiful instrument. The next is perfect for me. Tuners bridge knobs are very good top it off with a 5-way toggle switch to go between the 2 hummbuckers is a thing of absolute pleasure. And at this price it’s really a no brainer. Others try to copy the music man. But Sterling has created a monster of a bass for under $500 with all the tone you need. Thought I wouldn’t like the 2-band eq because my originals have a 3-band eq but the classics were only 2-band and you would think they were 3-band also. Would I recommend this bass?? Yes!! Might get the green one also(I have the blue). Thx to zZounds for the pay as you play option. Win win.
