"You get what you pay for with the Roland V-Pro. A lot!"
I did not know much about e-drums before I bought my first Roland, a V-Custom set. A year later I sold it and bought this V-Pro. It is everything I expected it to be, and still is. I have upgraded mine with a KD-120 kick, and am in the process of upgrading the module and adding V-Cymbals. I have done all that virtually free on E-bay by buying kits and reselling parts I don't need. But it is a lot of work and a little risky. The only thing better than a V-Pro is a V-Session, and again, that is a quantum leap in price.
Sound
The sounds are great! My only complaint with the standard TD-10 module are the fact that there are not enought front-panel adjustments for volume. For instance, the toms and the cymbals are on the same control curcuit. That makes no sense. Maybe a TDW-1 card would help, I don't know.
Features
Very well made. The only way to get a better set is to by a V-Session, which will lighten your wallet a bunch more.
Quality
You want Roland Quality, you pay Roland Prices. If there is a better way, I have not found it.
Value
Again, you get what you pay for and you pay a lot.
Manufacturer Support
Excellent phone support. These guys know what they are talking about and are more than happy to share it. Great service!
The Wow Factor
I have it, so I guess that means I wanted it. I don't see it in terms of sexiness, but it is a fine piece of equipment.
