I'm a guitarist playing multiple gigs per month. A few years back I began exploring digital amps to replace the tube amps I'd been carrying for years. I've tried pretty much all of them, eventually solidifying my choice of a digital/analog hybrid system run direct to FOH. For the last few years I've used the QSC KW12.2 speaker as my stage monitor for smaller gigs when we mix ourselves from the stage, running a main mix side-fill to my personal monitor to make FOH adjustments from the stage. It worked just fine. Recently, we performed a large venue where the RCF ST 12-SMA ll was provided as a stage monitor. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS MISSING!! The unbelievable clarity and separation of individual instruments and vocals was just astounding. The bass response was amazing. My guitar rig sounded better than ever so I immediately ordered one for myself. It performs exactly as I expected it to, so much so, in fact, that I completely reconfigured my pedalboard based upon my newly found ability to perfect my tone. It is smaller and lighter than my QSC, but it's the sound where this thing really shines. The FRFR and the Finite Impulse Response features are no doubt the key to this incredible speaker. There is no doubt that as soon as reasonably possible, I'll be replacing my main cabinets with the ST 15-SMAs and I'm quite certain that this will be a signifiant upgrade in sound from my QSC 153s. I'll keep the subs under them, of course, and maybe some day appropriate some RCF subs. I'm very read more impressed with RCF. Here in FL it appears that RCF mains are the 1st choice of professional sound companies for main speakers. So I believe reliability will not be an issue for the ST series. I highly recommend this speaker.
