For a simple straight forward mic or instrument preamp this is a huge bang for the buck. I'm very pleased.. Currently I operate a small project studio and this was a great addition for recording. the difference in sound quality with going through this preamp is awesome. I have a 2 channel interface and a DAW. Now adding the Preamp by PreSonus into the signal path before the interface gave me a much high quality of signal and sound. By the way, the condenser mic I have came free with the purchase of the DAW software so that should tell you this preamp does an excellent job on even the least expensive Mic
