The Ovation 2178 Ultra Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar is a professional instrument with the feel and playability of upscale USA made Ovation guitars. The 2178 Ultra features a cutaway body style, a AA Solid Sitka Spruce top on a deep contour body, scalloped LX bracing, soft V neck profile, a 5-piece exotic hardwood soundhole rosette, and a walnut bridge.
The 2178 has an Ovation OP-Pro preamp system that was developed to work specifically with the unique Ovation Patented Pickup. This professional-grade system has been engineered to complement the unique character of Ovation guitars. The OP-Pro provides powerful 3-band EQ and a built-in tuner.

This will be my main guitar gigging and writting until I can no longer play or write. If it breaks I'll pay to have it fixed and play it till it breaks again.
Sound
I have been looking for a new guitar for quite sometime now. Theft and vandalism left me without. I looked at everything under the sun. Taylor, Martin, Gibson, Gullwing, Breedlove, Takamine, you name it, I've tried it out. For the price you'll pay for Taylor or Martin, you will not get your money's worth in sound quality difference. This guitar really compares that well. I have ran it through a few different acoustic amps, Marshall, Fender, Ibanez, sounds great in all.
Features
Simple and easy. Not a lot of useless things that you'll never use. Like the fact that it has dual truss rods, and came with a wrench. Nice Pre Amp. Simple and to the point.
Ease of Use
Came set up. Tuned to open tuning first thing. Held it with no problems. The deep contour body really give this guitar a full sound to go along with the crisp mids and highs.
Quality
No problems, perfect, beautiful Black Cherry Burst. Really pretty guitar to go along with the great tone, and finish.
Value
This sound of this guitar is way above it's price. It competes very favorably with much more expensive guitars. Would buy two of these before I would buy one low end Martin, or Taylor.
