zZounds Gear Experts Say...
With custom pots, boutique wiring, and a carefully constructed harness made in the USA, this 920D Custom set is sure to hot-rod your SG into one mean axe.
Overview
The 920D Custom SG50-PIO is a wiring harness upgrade for Gibson and Epiphone SG guitars. 920D Custom wiring harness upgrades are built to quickly and easily drop into your guitar and totally transform your tone. If you are looking to clean up your tone and let your pickups sing through, the SG50-PIO is for you.
Genuine paper-in-oil capacitors will give your guitar the classic tone of a vintage SG. The wiring scheme provides a tight, transparent tone. Unlike modern wiring schemes, it features a reduced treble cut, when rolling back the volume control. The highs sound clearer -- especially with the volume pot rolled back. The harness effectively gives you a treble bleed kit function on each volume pot, without adding the extra caps and resistors.
All 920D Custom products are highlighted with 920D's signature orange wire. Gavitt Wire, a leading producer of premium guitar wire, has agreed to custom manufacture our signature cloth covered pushback wire, and 920D believes it is the perfect choice for hotrodding your guitar. The wire is built with an outer waxed cotton layer and an inner Celanese braid that provides impressive ruggedness while still maintaining a 22 gauge thickness. Limiting the amount of wire on each build compliments your choice of pickups by creating the perfect balance between capacitance and resistance.
920D specify a 10% audio taper, accompanied with a low rotational torque rating of 0.50-2.00 in.oz (compared to the industry standard 0.75-6.00 in.oz rating) to provide a buttery knob sweep.
920D holds potentiometer tolerances to +/-10%. The industry standard is +/-20%. Tightening potentiometer tolerances will help you accurately shape your tone.
920D have all heard the crackle of a weak connection caused by pressure grounds. This is due to the old style jack only having 1 squared-off point of contact trying to meet a rounded quarter inch plug. Pure Tone has completely changed that.
Pure Tone's multi-contact quarter inch output jack has 4 rounded contact points that hold the quarter inch plug firmly in place. With 4 times the contact points, all of the dreaded cracks, snaps, and pops are gone for good. Trust us, the second you plug into this jack, you'll never want to go back.

Bought to upgrade my 2010Epiphone s.g. g400 worn brown.very easy to install. Had to drill out the volume n tone holes to fit the pots with a hand reeming file very easy used the right size washer with some blue painters tape , taped to the outside so my finish wouldn't chip. Also because of the right angled switchcraft toggle I had to cut that cavity deeper because of the epiphone g400 was to thick for the toggle switch and the toggle poker chip.Sounds amazing .Every volume and tone you can here the change on each half turn. Clarity , sustain is amazing all the bright chimm is gone got a nice warm thick tone .Added with the mxr 10band eq to reach all my frequency I like and need for all style of music I play . I run it thro a fender tone master twin reverb .boss metal zone mt1 + boss bdr 2+ meatsro fuzztone from guitar to amp.Mxr 10band eq + mxr phase 95 + jcm 3 series chorus , dalay and reverb through the fx loop.Pickups used are Seymour Duncan sh4 bridge and sh2 jazz for neck. Between all that my guitar is amazing .Anyways 90D custom SG50-PIO pre-wired harness is a absolutely beautiful and perfect wired harness what an upgrade and I would highly recommend it for anyone .Especially for epiphone upgrade if you don't want a real 50s style harness with the bare minimum. Not that great with reviews I can only write music sorry if this doesn't help but I figured it didn't have any reviews so I thought I'd help.Again I just dropped it in yesterday Aug 4th 2022 and played for 4 hours…
