Power Of Control

The enormous controlling power of Panorama P1 is contained in a compact case about the size of a 17" laptop. An unrivalled amount of assignable controls makes Panorama the most comprehensive and fully featured MIDI controller around. 16 encoders, 9 45mm faders, 10 LED buttons, 28 buttons and a foot switch jack gives you immediate control of up to 61 parameters at any one time. Settings can be stored in 20 presets with individually save and loadable F-keys maps for more than 1200 combinations. The numbers may not matter but being in control does.

The Display Says It All

A crystal clear 3.5" color TFT display delivers the information you really need, for each mode or menu. Regardless of whether you are operating Cubase, Reason or programming MIDI assignments in Internal mode, the display provides detailed information that makes your workflow fluent and fast. read more Panorama takes the hard work out of using a controller and makes operations that seem complicated and non-transparent on other products, straight-forward and simple.

Midi Control - A Game Of Many Options!

Setting up presets or F-keys maps is easy on Panorama. The Control Edit menu enables you to quickly select a control and in real-time assign the MIDI command you want. For each control values can be scaled, reverse and assigned specific or global MIDI channels. The chart shows the programming options available for each type of control.

Transport When You Need It, Function Buttons When You Don't

It's hard to go places without transport so Panorama features an extended 11 button transport bar, positions right where you need it controlling: Return to L, Forward to R, Undo, Click on/off, Record Mode, Cycle on/off, Back, Forward, Stop, Play and Record. Using the shift button, these also double up as 11 function buttons each assignable to MIDI commands or QWERTY macro's.

Shortcut to Software Functions

So QWERTY macro's -- big deal, right? That's right, its a VERY big deal. Your software has a ton of features and functions that can be activated using QWERTY shortcut commands. Assigning a command to a button so you don't have to be near your computer makes life a lot easier. Assigning a string of up to 8 commands takes it to another level. With this powerful feature you could for example enter edit mode, zoom in and select a tool with just one button press. Or create an instrument or effects track and locate a folder containing your presets so you can select them from Panorama, all with one button press and without looking at your computer.

Control Cubase, Nuendo, Reason, or Bitwig Studio Like Never Before

For Cubase, Nuendo and Reason users, Panorama is a dream come true. The dedicated communication protocol ties Panorama and your DAW tightly together so all you have to do is select the mode and menu you want to control. Panorama does the rest. Three modes allows you one button press to switch between controlling the Mixer, Instruments (VSTi or Devices) and Transport, with the 4th mode, Internal, still providing access to traditional MIDI control. The integration with Cubase, Nuendo and Reason is so deep that you can immerse yourself in your music without having to constantly reach for the mouse. Panorama gives you the creative freedom to just focus on your music.

The Modular Approach to a DAW

The idea of modularity has been central to Bitwig Studio. While digital audio workstations (DAWs) aren't known for taking a modular approach, creating Bitwig Studio from the ground up allowed Bitwig's creators to rethink previous assumptions. This led to a focus not just on individual devices, but on strengthening the ways they interact with and support one another.

Within the Bitwig Studio 1 cycle, the concepts of Nested Device Chains as well as Modulator Devices made it already one of the most flexible DAWs in the industry, and in Bitwig Studio 2 the modularity concept has been developed further. The entire modulation system has been reworked and the idea of modulators has been reclaimed. Today, Bitwig proudly presents this next step on the journey towards a fully modular device architecture. Beside the focus on modularity, Bitwig has also refined all other areas of the Bitwig Studio workflow.

Modulators

Bitwig Studio 2 comes with 24 brand-new modulators; from standard modulators like envelopes and LFOs, to more unique modulator types like Random, Select-4 and Math.

Each device in Bitwig Studio 2 (internal devices and external plug-ins) has individual modulation slots where an unlimited number of modulators can be added to a device and assigned to any number of parameters. Furthermore, the Modulators can also be interconnected for truly dynamic and expressive sound design possibilities. When using internal Bitwig instruments, many modulators can be set to polyphonic mode -- enabling per-voice modulation -- something previously only seen in closed systems.

Devices

Apart from totally re-conceptualizing the modulation system and introducing an entirely new class of Modulator devices, Bitwig is also expanding the standard device collection.

Bitwig Studio 2:
- Spectrum Analyzer
- Pitch Shifter
- Phaser
- Treemonster
- Multi-Note
- Note Echo
- Note Harmonizer
- Note Latch
- Note Length
- Note Velocity

Better Hardware Integration

The creators of Bitwig have done a lot of work under the hood to revamp MIDI handling in Bitwig Studio; improving sync, note timing and adding MIDI Time Code.

Bitwig is introducing a set of devices that will seamlessly integrate hardware via MIDI and CV/Gate:
- MIDI CC
- MIDI Program Change
- HW Clock out
- HW CV Instrument
- HW CV Out

Fades and Crossfades

We introduce fades and crossfades for audio clips not only in the arranger timeline but also audio editor and for audio events inside clips -- for truly fast yet flexible editing. Naturally, the curve slopes of all fades can be adjusted.

VST3 Support

Bitwig now supports the VST3 plug-in standard -- including per-note expression and sample accurate automation.

Device Updates

Bitwig has made lots of enhancements to existing devices, improving both sound quality and usability. Several devices now include a spectrum analyzer and dynamic display panels. Many devices have been re-organized, re-designed and added new features. Bitwig Studio 2 also improves visualization of parameters, movement and signal flow.

Polysynth Updates

Since Bitwig Studio first came out, Polysynth has been a go-to synth for musicians and sound designers. With Bitwig Studio 2, Polysynth's feature set has expanded further, by adding several oscillator mix and filter waveshaping modes. These new modes open up new possibilities for sound exploration; adding complex overtones and frequency modulation options to your sound palette.

Smart Tool Switching and improved Editor Workflow

With Bitwig Studio 2, you can now achieve many standard tasks without having to swap tools: depending on where you click, you can select multiple objects or time segments, edit fades or zoom and scroll.

Dashboard

The Dashboard handles many tasks that were previously available only in menus and other windows, such as locating and opening projects, configuring settings, installing packages and accessing help resources.

Notifications

A new notification system shows different types of messages in a clear, streamlined and non-intrusive format.

Menu System

Bitwig has reworked the menu system extensively. Bitwig Studio 2 now features a context-aware menu system to keep the focus on the task at hand. Yes, VST effects and instruments are supported in 32- and 64-bit versions. Bitwig Studio runs VSTs in a separate process. This prevents Bitwig Studio from crashing when a plug-in misbehaves.
