zZounds Gear Experts Say...

Alter your approach to guitar with the classic cool of an Axis. Loaded with a pair of DiMarzio humbuckers and a locking tremolo, this Axis means business.

What's special about this item?

Feature:	What it does:
Basswood body	Big, warm midrange tones
Roasted figured maple neck	Bright tone, full sustain and strength
Custom DiMarzio pickups	Powerfully hot, full and dynamic tone
Schaller M6LA tuners	Small & light; 1:14 gear ratio for precise tuning

Overview

This Ernie Ball Music Man Axis guitar features a beautiful quilt or flame book matched maple top over a lightweight basswood body. Two medium output custom DiMarzio humbuckers are mounted directly to the body for optimum resonance and signal response. This tonewood/pickup combination is a perfect recipe for hard edge rock tones but also delivers a subtle dynamic response at lower volume levels when needed.

The Axis asymmetric hard rock maple neck allows for comfortable hand positions across all 22 frets, while the option of vintage-style tremolo and locking Schaller tuners or a double locking Music Man Floyd Rose tremolo keeps the guitar perfectly in tune.

Features

- Basswood body

I had ordered 1 of the new peavey hp2s from zzounds recently and when it came to me it had a broken bridge pickup. It worked out for the best that I returned it because this guitar is absolutely incredible. I had an older amber quilt axis with a plain birdseye maple neck and for whatever reason I just love this one way more. The neck is insanely beautiful, just look at that flame on it, I've never even seen a neck like this before. Sound is what you'd expect out of an axis, nothing super new with this model that I can see. Overall a fantastic guitar that you really just want to hang on the wall and look at. Definitely glad I went for this over the peavey hp2.
